Overview

Bella Chatham will lose everything - her veterinary practice, her animal shelter, and even her home - if she can't find another source of income, fast. So when her best friend signs her up for the hot new reality television show, Can You Beat a Billionaire, Bella accepts the challenge and hopes against hope she can win the ten million dollar prize. If she doesn't, it's bye-bye pet clinic and shelter, bye-bye Chance Creek, Montana, and hello to marriage to the billionaire for a year!

Evan Mortimer, billionaire, can't believe he's reduced to competing in a television contest to win a wife. Unfortunately, it's the only foolproof way to secure his position as head of Mortimer Innovations. At least he'll be able to dump his "spouse" at the end of the year; he's much too busy to be tied down to a country bumpkin cowgirl.

Bella doesn't expect her adversary to be handsome - or funny, or compassionate - but Evan's all three, and he's proving a tough competitor, too. When they end up sharing a tent - and a sleeping-bag - her body betrays her with a longing so deep it cuts her to the core. Still, this cowgirl must stay strong. If Evan uncovers her secret fears, he'll use them to win the contest - and then he'll own her for a year. She'll be out of luck, out of cash, and stuck being Mrs. Mortimer until he kicks her to the curb. Too bad she can't decide which is worse - winning the show and losing Evan forever, or losing the show and only being his temporary wife.

Evan can't believe he's falling for the one woman who doesn't want him. This cowgirl's not impressed by his money, his name, or his inability to sleep in a tent with her for an entire night, but every look and touch she gives him sends his desire through the roof. With a director determined to use his claustrophobia to make him look like a fool, and an adversary so sexy he can hardly see straight, he'll need all his savvy to come out on top. Too bad he's going to lose no matter how this show turns out. If he beats Bella, he'll destroy the first woman he's ever loved. If he doesn't beat her, it's bye-bye Mortimer Innovations.

Will either of them remember in time that it's not who wins or who loses - it's how they play the game that really counts?

This sure wasn't the story I expected. The author created characters with Archilles Heels and then wrote how they faced them. If you wanted real life drama, welll, this is a dream so you may not want THIS book. If you are looking for a fun read, this is the place. You will have fun herr!!!

“The Cowgirl Ropes a Billionaire” is a sweet, girl-meets-billionaire-instant-love-story with a twist. It’s well written and interesting. I’m not a fan of the cowboy/cowgirl genre, but in this case, the heroine wasn’t a cowgirl, the hero wasn’t a cowboy, and the villain was a woman and a TV producer! Putting them into a reality show worked well to showcase their talents as well as their faults. After reading “The Cowgirl Ropes a Billionaire” I would probably read another book by Cora Seton. Veterinarian Bella Chatham is a pushover for any stray, injured animal she meets. Since everyone in Chance Creek knows she can’t bear to euthanize a healthy animal, people bring her strays. Every penny she earns goes into feeding her menagerie. Unfortunately, she’s about to lose her practice because she can’t pay the bills. Billionaire Evan Mortimer needs to get married in order to keep Mortimer Innovations. He’s kept the company focused on technologies that would reduce people’s need for oil, but if his very-married brother, Nate, gets his greedy hands on the company, they’d be fracking for oil in North Dakota. A new reality show, Can You Beat a Billionaire, offers a ten million dollar prize to any female contestant who can beat a billionaire in a series of physical challenges. If the billionaire wins, he gets a bride for a year. Bella needs the money desperately, so when her friends sign her up as a contestant, she decides to compete. Evan is sure he can win, because he’s sure he can win almost any physical challenge, and, better still, he can dump his bride after a year. Perfect! Bella didn’t expect her opponent to be quite so good looking, or so good at everything he tries. Evan didn’t expect find someone who wasn’t interested in his money or his position, or to be so attracted to her. TV producer Madeline is determined to make it tough for both of them, even using their secret fears against them. Both are determined to see it through to the end, even though by winning they might end up losing the thing they want most. I received my copy from librarything in exchange for an honest review.

She wants to win a million dollars and he wants to win a bride. The challenges they go through brings loud laughs and tears. Worth reading.

Loved it. Instead of the cowboy gets the girl, the cowgirl gets her guy.

I really enjoyed reading this true love story. What a fun way to meet your husband or wife. Spending time together in the outdoors getting to know each other and trying your hardest to get what you want and need out of life. I really enjoyed the ending - does show they were truley in love. Thanks and will look forward to reading more of your books. I can hardly wait for the next one, what will be in store for another - love story!

Enjoyed this quick read! I loved that Bella and Evan were not perfect characters. The overall story was a bit predictable, but the interesting characters more than made up for it.
