    Fascinating

    The Craft of Intelligence is one of those books that appears to be one thing and is in truth something else entirely. Judging from the title and the back, one would assume this book was former director Dulles' attempt to lay out the makings of a good intelligence officer in a "how to" format. This is not the case. Instead the reader is given a fascinating history of how intelligence work was performed from the WWII era up through the Cold War. There is some very informative bits of wisdom that the clever reader will be able to translate into direction should they aspire to a career in intelligence. Most importantly, the writing is never dull and the whole book gives one a sense of satisfaction after having read it. History buffs, military experts and those intrigued by the world of international intrigue will definitely enjoy The Craft of Intelligence.
