"What are you doing to create a legacy your descendants will cherish tomorrow?" ask Cheryl Lightle and Rhonda Anderson, cofounders of Creative Memories, one of the world's largest organizations dedicated to scrapbooking (they prefer the term "album making"). Their book, The Creative Memories Way: Creating Keepsake Albums and Building Your Family Legacy, shows readers how to preserve their photographs, memorabilia and journal entries for future generations. It also encourages them to be creative about recording their lives: to write a bio-poem for each of their children, for example, or to make "tribute albums" to mark special occasions such as a wedding or a milestone birthday. Geared for the beginner, this accessible guide with many references to church traditions, will help many people to create keepsake albums to cherish. (Mar.) Awesome book. Quick, easy read! This is NOT a how to scrapbook book. It is about why we should preserve our priceless pictures and tell the stories that will be forever cherished and connect the past to the future. It inspires us to get our priorities in order. My Mom (a grandmother who works full time) makes the time to do an album for all her adult children. She poured her heart into the pages which summarize my life from birth to marriage to my own children. As parents we think we tell our children our feelings towards them. However putting it on scrapbook pages the creative memories way is creating a legacy of love that will last forever! When you are no longer with your children don't you want them to know the depths of your love? Carve out the time to do this. It may be one of the most important things you will do for those you love! Get this book and be inspired!!

This book is very inspirational! For all of those people out there, men and women alike, who think they don't have time to scrapbook. You will totally change your mind after reading this book. Learn how you can make a difference in someone's life by communicating through an album how you feel about them, or how special they are!

This is a wonderful, thorough, and encouraging book about the WHY's of scrapbooking. Not only does it discuss the practically endless topics or ideas for our albums [anything and everything is fair game]... But Rhonda and Cheryl share the reasons WHY we should be creating keepsake albums, not just with photos, but also with telling the stories WITH journalling. This book is a MUST READ for anyone and everyone that is interested in sharing their memories with their families and friends [and wanting these memories to last for GENERATIONS]. I'd love to go on and on about this book!! :-) No, I'm not a Creative Memories consultant, but I HAVE been scrapbooking with CM for a number of years and strongly believe in their mission. I've never felt strong about any company in 40+ years as I have in CM.

Having had one of my 'Creative Memories success stories' chosen for publication in this book, I was fortunate enough to be sent an advance copy of CREATING KEEPSAKE ALBUMS AND BUILDING YOUR FAMILY LEGACY... THE CREATIVE MEMORIES WAY. I have been a Creative Memories Consultant for almost six years now, and I am VERY impressed with the concept, content and compilation of stories validating WHY we choose to spend our precious time and money making photo albums that will tell our stories and will last for generations. Our Creative Memories mission is to help others: Preserve the Past, Enrich the Present and Inspire Hope for the Future. A clarifying statement early on in the book states: '...scrapbooking is viewed as a hobby or craft, while making keepsake albums is about building connections, enriching our lives, and leaving a lasting family legacy.' Using a unique format that combines interviews with Creative Memories' co-founders Cheryl Lightle and Rhonda Anderson, tips and techniques for creating albums and stories from the field,THE CREATIVE MEMORIES WAY will give the reader an abundance of ideas and inspiration for making their own keepsake albums.
