By piecing the lives of selected individuals into a grand mosaic, Pulitzer Prize-winning historian Daniel J. Boorstin explores the development of artistic innovation over 3,000 years. A hugely ambitious chronicle of the arts that Boorstin delivers with the scope that made his Discoverers a national bestseller.

I Also Recommend:
I have always found it very hard to digest books on History, but Boorstin is a writer like none other. He has the ability to organize history into an interesting series of world shaking events in the form of chronological inventions that shook the world. I found this to be one of the best ever in being able to capture and present difficult subject matter that encompasses the world's entire time tableregarding the development of mankind.
