In his introduction, Siebert (religion and society, Johannes Gutenburg University, Mainz, Germany) states: "I shall develop my study of Habermas's theory of communicative praxis as reconstructive continuation of the critical theory of subject, society, history and religion in three chapters. Chapter I is concerned with the origin, genesis, structure and consequences of the the theory of communicative action. The second chapter explores cirtically the origin, structure, and consequences of the theory of religion.... In the third chapter I shall try to resolve the aporetical aspects of the theory of communicative praxis...in the framework of a fundamental theology with practical intent...."
