Kimberly Burke has avoided all types of risk since her mother's deadly plane crash—including risky relationships. Seems like everyone is always leaving her behind: her ex-boyfriend, her mother, and now her sister Andi and best friend Rachel—who have each found the man of her dreams.

Then she meets Nathaniel when she mistakes his backyard for the new community park. He loves her passion, and when he learns of her wistful desire to travel, he takes her up in a hot air balloon, hoping to overcome her fear of flying so that she can accompany him abroad.

But before he leaves, they must catch the Cupcake Bandit and replace the money stolen from Creative Cupcakes before the shop is shut down. Will discovering the thief's identity persuade Kim to take a risk on love . . . or will she stay behind and let Nathaniel fly off without her?

    Good read

Sweet short story. Good to read when you just want to get away for a bit from the daily grind of life.

Panzera has created a fun series with her CUPCAKE DIARIES that is light, entertaining and suitable for any reader. Kimberly, like Andi and Rachel from books one and two, has been unlucky in love. The cupcake shop the three opened in again threatened and in danger of failing. Kimberly is offered the chance to open an art gallery with other artists but that would mean walking away from the burgeoning new bakery and her sister and friend. Torn between doing what the others want and fulfilling her artistic dreams, Kim is at a crossroads in her life. Romance is the last thing on her mind when she meets Nathaniel but the instant attraction cannot be ignored. Kim finds herself willing to face her fears with Nathaniel at her side and is able to sort through all the challenges in her life to find what she really wants and needs. This book and series are almost too light but are entertaining enough to make reading them an interesting way to spend an afternoon.

This book was received by MY BOOK ADDICTION AND MORE from the publisher for an honest review.

    RATING: 4

HEAT RATING: Sweet: No sex or scenes of physical intimacy except some kissing. No graphic violence or profanity.

    Poorly written

I bought this book because i liked the first treetop in the series. I found the storyline in this one silly, unrealistic and lacking. I find it hard to believe after selling a few dozen cupcakes that would have enough money to buy the shop they rented. It almost felt like a 15 year old wrote the book.

After Kim lost her mother in a plane crash, she quit taking risk

After Kim lost her mother in a plane crash, she quit taking risks of all kinds. She not only gave up her dream of travel, but would not take a chance on love. Now Andi and Rachel have both found love, and she is still alone. Until she meets Nathaniel. But when he has to go back to his home in Sweden, Kim has to decide whether she is ready to take a chance again.

Again, Ms. Panzera has written another great installment in The Cupcake Diaries series. Not only do we finally see Kim in a romantic relationship, but we get another mystery. This time out, we have the Cupcake Bandit. Admittedly, it is easy to guess the solution, but it still makes for a fun read. We have the same engaging characters and short, snappy chapters. Hopefully, the author will continue this series, or begin another in the same vein.
