I had never liked screamo music and then when I tried Atreyu, I couldnt stop buying all their CD's and going to the shows! They reel you in with catchy melodies and Alex's voice delivers the sweetest lyrics that reveal how hard it is to love someone. I recommend this band to anyone who needs a little excitement in their life :P

Atreyu are not your everyday screamo band. (Screamo is a genre of hardcore mixed with emo). Their first single off the album Right Side of the Bed. Is a metal serenade of Alex's emotions, mixed in with Brandon's harmonistic voice, crunchy (but catchy) riffs, and a well-done solo. Their second single The Crimson also brought hardcore to the table, mixing in with melody and metal. Also including the swift guitar riffs. Bleeding Mascara and the rest of the tracks show the genre of metal/hardcore mixed with melody is a great one to listen too. Even though Atreyu's first album (Suicide Notes and Butterfly Kisses) was more catchy than this one. This still brings Atreyu's unique style. With heavier music and emotion. The Curse is a perfect addition to any true metal-lovers collection.

This is is a little less hardcore as previous cds, but this cd is still awesome.

I never thought that they'd turn to the mainstream lyrics and whine about love to gain popularity..the whole "theres enough light in your eyes to light up our little world" type thing throws it off. the music's still there but the lyrics that used to perfect it are not.

Man you just can't beat these crackers. Every song kicks azz. The thing that's tottlay sick about this band is they have this heavy metal vocalist that's just insane then they have this crazy azz drummer and his smooth voice, it's a delicious mix. These guys kick major AZZ. Keep making new albums brothas.

I wasn't much of an Atreyu fan until the release of "The Curse." By how much they seemed to have matured, I was completely blown away. I would recommend this to any hardcore fan.
