The Curse of the Rougaru
In the creepy middle of the Louisiana swamp, something really old and scary starts moving around...
John Beaumont had a pretty good idea of what the swamp was like-muddy water, quicksand that could suck you in, and alligators that might take a nibble. But he had no clue what was lurking in the dark parts. When some really nasty stuff starts happening to the people he cares about, everyone starts whispering about an old swamp tale, the Rougarou. This creature is supposed to be a shapeshifter that goes on the prowl when the moon is full.
John's desperate to keep his family safe and figure out what's going on, so he joins forces with this weird hunter guy who's been chasing the beast his whole life. The more they explore the swamp, the more they find out about this messed up history that's got to do with John's own family.
And then, as the blood moon comes up and the Rougarou is at its strongest, John has to deal with the thing and also the bad stuff that's inside him. If he wants to break the curse and keep his family from getting hurt, he'll have to do something huge... maybe give up everything. Or, like, become the monster he's been trying to stop.
