Firstly, no, this is obviously not the same author as Dan Brown, of The Da Vinci Code. It's clearly just a guy with a similar name, so those people leaving one star reviews who have clearly not read the book should be ignored.
WIth that out of the way, I have read this book, and it's very good indeed. This is a genre that I don't often venture into, but I very much enjoyed Dan's book, so it would seem that I really should consume more thrilling horrors.
The Curse Tablet builds nicely from it's idyllic beginnings, with a well paced and structured descent into madness, culminating in a really good ending (something I find very important in a book), that left me satisfied.
The central family are very well written, very believable, and the nagging wife, indeed the entire family dynamic, was something I could picture with perfect clarity.
A good read indeed, and hopefully there are more to come from this author.
