The Curtis Creek Manifesto based on 0 ratings. 4 reviews.
There are so many beginning flyfishing manuals published, it can be a real nightmare trying to select one. As a bookseller for nearly ten years, I have had the opportunity to see most of what's available. This is the only title that has all the basic information cleverly presented. Curtis Creek is a fun read and a testament to the mind of a simple man that knew his stuff. Get it!
A very good overall view of flyfishing. Informative, and presented in a humerous, comic-book style which makes the reader laugh and learn at the same time! Small enough to pack easily. Also nice to have on the shelf to come back and refer to later. I've had to keep buying copies because the one's I've loaned end up keepers (for someone else.) Nicely Done! If I could I'd rate it as a 4 & 1/2 stars.
I have read several other fly fishing books that I thought were the best for covering everything any fly fisher man should know. This one matched those and then went past my expectations. If you are just starting out, want to brush up on techniques or looking for a quality book that has everything you ever wanted to know, this is it. Easy reading and it spells everything out in laymen terms.
The Curtis Creek Manifesto is the first fly fishing book that I have read and could truly understand. So many other books that I have read were filled with so much tech talk and jargon that I became confused and frustrated. This book, with its simple and elegant illustrations saved my fly fishing trip to Colorado in 1997 andd I recommed it to all of my fishing buddies.
