    Very Addicting!

I did not think that I was going to like this book. It started out a it slow and seemed like a period piece at first and then.....it totally takes on a whole new twist capitavating the reader into the stroyline with plenty of action and interesting characters tht draw you in deeper. The end of the book leaves you craving for more! You will not be able to resist this series!

    very good

i got the first book for free as a demonstration of the author's writting. since i had never heard of the author before my expectations were rather low. however i was pleasantly surprised by it. the female lead is rude, mean, selfish which is very different. sabre is more complex, we see him struggle with what it means to be a human, not to mention that the whole set up is rather interesting; an advanced alien landing in a world that has been reverted to its dark ages. all in all i really enjoyed it and have already purchased the sequel :)

    A Page turner

I've recently become a fan of T C Southwell by reading The Queen's Bade. I read this book and I liked it. However, the Queen is extremely annoying. I was always hoping Sabre would just forget about her. She is one of the most annoying characters that I have come across. On the other side of the coin: Bravo T C Southwell for making me get riled up over a character! I recommend reading the book and the heroine is a necessary, unfortunately, part of the book.

    Not a bad read

I guess I am hooked on the Chronicals. This is a good, entertaining SciFi/Fantasy book. I would not put it up there with the greats, but I enjoyed the story and found it plausible. I enjoyed the first book, although I really am starting to despise the queen- such a spoiled brat at 17. The problems she gets the two of them into. I find it hard to believe that the cyber, when free, is actually a good guy. I would expect him to have all sorts of mental issues considering what he went through. And I also find it silly that he allows the queen to keep getting them both into trouble. But we know the cyber is exerting influence. It is a good premise and I like the way the characters roll out. This is my first ebook and I enjoyed being able to pull it out to read at my convenience- the plot kept me coming back for more.

I would recommend the book and think it could result in interesting discussions regarding the characters actions. I do think the author has an opportunity to really take this far and hope I see that in the next few issues. For example, I would like to see Sabre escape the backroads and get into a modern world, see reprecussions from the homeworld, more abilities, etc. She could really have several subplots going with this one. So- I am expecting a lot with the next few books.

    Well written but INCOMPLETE!

So here I am, clearly in the middle of a story, hero in danger, plot line unresolved, and this stinker says to buy the next book if you want to read the ending! Shame on you Southwell for the cheap shot.

    so so

The queen is irritating and deserves the horrible fate the hero saves her from repeatedly. The hero is not realistic because of the background imposed on him by the author. This could have been a much better story, however is still worth the price.

    2 stars

2 stars I read 120 pages of the 200+ and could not get into the story or the characters. Reading the outline made the book sound interesting with an interesting story line.
Unfortunately the author did not pull it off. The queen was a brat and the cyber was boring. It made no sense to bring a cyber with modern weapons to an place that was middle age, knights, broadswords, thats like bring a knife to a gun fight. Plus he had onlyba limited supply of modern weapons he would run out than what?
I cannot recommend this book, it dragged, boring, there was nothing appealing or endearing about the characters, and the queen was a spoiled 16 yr old who needed to have her behind tanned.
Glad the book was free this way I won't be upset over deleting this book.

    Very good start...

My first instinct is to give this book one star and be done with it! Then I think, when I get so frustrated with a book, so upset with one character that I just want to thrust myself into this fictional world and beat her bloody, the author did a splendid job and I have to give credit where credit is due.

Tassin's character was annoying as hell and lord knows someone needs to take a belt to her backside but we also need to remember, she's just a teenager. She may be a Queen, but a teenager nonetheless. Sabre is programmed protect her. So while we wish her a million ways to hell and so does Sabre, he still has a duty to protect her and he'll stick to it. Doesn't matter how annoying or selfish she is.

With that being said, I feel this was a great start to what looks to be a very interesting series and I can't wait to read the rest of it. It was very well written, with descriptive places, characters and settings. Its not normally my kind of book, but it was a very enjoyable read.

    SR

FYI: This first book ends on a cliffhanger so don't expect any kind of ending with answers! Be ready to pick up the next book in the series....

    Couldn't finish it.

I have loved all of TC Southwell's other series, a few more than others, but while I am sure the story line of this one is as good as the others, the female lead character here is way too annoying and I just could not read more than half the story. If someone can tell me if the girl becomes less annoying in the next book, then I might try finishing this one and go on to the next book.
