Overview

This is PART ONE of a SIX PART SERIAL NOVEL. They must be read in sequence in order to understand the story.

PART ONE: A life-changing event leads Daniel on a quest.

Set in the turn of the thirteenth century Scottish Highlands, this is the story of Daniel MacLaurin, a handsome, rugged warrior-laird haunted by his past, and Maryn Donald, the beautiful, high-spirited lass destined to help him find his heart's ease.

After his mother and grandfather, the only family he has ever known, are viciously murdered in a surprise invasion when he is a lad of 13, Daniel spends years focusing on training as a warrior and rebuilding his fortress, determined to control the world around him so that nothing like it will ever happen again.

Maryn Donald is a wild child; a lass who, as the only offspring of her widowed father, has been indulged in her high-spiritedness. So much so, that she takes matters into her own hands when she sees that the neighboring clan is mistreating their horses. She impetuously steals them and then, as recompense for her crime, must wed the powerful, wealthy young laird about whom she's heard such disturbing rumors: Daniel MacLaurin.

HIGHLAND VENGEANCE is a steamy adventure romance, but it is also a family saga. It's the story of how a man overcomes the horror of his past to find love, connection, and contentment once more.

Meet the Author

K.E. Saxon is a third-generation Texan and has been a lover of romance fiction since her first (sneaked) read of her older sister's copy of "The Flame and the Flower" by Kathleen E. Woodiwiss. She is a member of Romance Writers of America and Romance Divas. When she isn't in her writer's cave writing, you can find her puttering in her organic vegetable garden or in her kitchen trying out a new recipe. An animal (and bug) lover since before she could speak, she made pets of all kinds of critters when she was a kid growing up. Her mother even swears that she made a pet of a cockroach one time (but K.E. doesn't believe her). She likes to write funny, sexy romances.

    Too many books f

Too many cheesy and sometimes gross love scenes. I cant understand why the author had SIX books (more like short stories) in this "series", other than to milk another .99 cents from readers. This could have been easily a one book story. The last book was only about 15 pages when you take out the nonsense pages in the beginning and end! The story is very repetitive and needed more depth. It has the bones to be good, too bad.

The Darkest Day: Highland Vengence: Part One

This book (?) Has such great potential! Maybe if part one became the prolog & the rest pf the story was put together as a book or novel, you could really have a great book. I rarely bother with books of such few pages, but I love stories about the Highlands. I doubt I will read the other parts because I do not like being pulled in on a great book, then being dumped all at once without an ending. Too bad too, because this could really go somewhere. S.S.

    How sad

This book makes you want to read the rest to know what happens. Only 70 pages, but lots of detail.

Doesn't give me much hope for Part Two through Part Six.

So much for Part One. All it is is an Author's Note and a glossary, unless I missed something.

    It is just the prolouge

This book was just a 79 page prolouge. I think if the author offered it WITH all 6 parts as a whole though it would ve am ok book.

    Good start.

Not what i consider a book. Rather the beginning chapters of a book. Sounded like a good start anyway.

I thought the Highland Vengeance Series was fantastic . ms. Saxon gave us a small tidbit of what was to become of this series  and
I purchased the others immediately it took me to the wonderful o\of Scott land and the characters in her books begone to some alive I was in the middle of the
Highlands in the middle of everything. It  peaked my interest and I wanted to find out more about the characters I read four books in one night I can not  wait to find out where the story goes from
here. Ms. Saxon is a great writer and books are worth the wait.
