    The dash diet was a diet created to help lower you blood pressure. When they did the study to see if it would work they found that people also lost weight. The book says that you can lose weight without having to give up your favorite foods. Later on in the book, it tells you that you do have to cut back on salt. One thing you have to give up is processed food it tends to have a lot of sodium. It give tips on how you should eat your food. For instance, eat slowly not fast. When eating slowly you have a tendency to feel full afterwards. It gives some warning like if you have tried other diets and you start this one. You will feel like you’re eating too much food. It also has 150 easy to follow recipes. There is also a 30-day meal plan that is helpful also. I hope you enjoy.

    A must read for all seeking to eat a healthy well-balanced diet full of nutrients. This isn't a book detailing a quick and short diet fad during which you are starving and feeling restricted, but details an approach to eat wholesome and nutritious foods. It includes valuable tools to eat healthy, such as calculating how many calories you need per day and what sort of food groups are healthier. I love the dessert recipes, they are healthy and yet taste like a satisfying scrumptious dessert.

    I had never heard of the DASH diet before now and was surprised

    I had never heard of the DASH diet before now and was surprised to read that the American Heart Association and the USDA recommend it for ALL adults. Now I see why. It's not a reduced-calorie weight loss program, but a diet designed to alleviate hypertension, an ailment affecting 1 in 4 Americans. I appreciate that you don't have to eat less or even differently, just smarter. For instance, you can have up to 5 sweet treats in a week. There were lots of great tips to avoid sodium, like grilling veggies to bring out their natural flavor, and of course plenty of recipes to get you on track!

    I purchased this book because I was looking for a different view

    I purchased this book because I was looking for a different view on dieting. This book allowed me to look at food choices and weight management in a healthy way. It took me step-by-step in showing me how to get started with complete ease and detail.  I wanted a diet book that would not limit me with the “high carb/low fat” or the “low carb/high protein” and all the popular media diet hype that seem to flood our brains everyday as the only way to lose weight. I needed to work on getting the right balance because I have tried other diets and they didn’t seem to work that well for me.  I already knew a little bit of stuff that this book talked about, but the thing about this diet is addressing problems such as “Metabolic Syndrome”, high blood pressure, high cholesterol and heart disease. I like the fact that is written in a way of how to care correctly for my body, such as reducing cholesterol, triglycerides and hypertension. I come from a family history of these illnesses and it was important that I get a book to teach me how to do this right  because I am just exhausted of all the diets that are out there. This book is great for someone who is ready to move on past the phase diets and really get on track to eating right and doing some form of exercising. The recipes in this book are really delish and are not complicated with hard-to-find ingredients.

    Reading the book, Dash Diet for Beginners, will be life changing for anyone interested not only in losing weight but also for those wanting to maintain a healthy life style.  The diet was designed by doctors and dieticians from Harvard, Duke University, and Johns Hopkins Medical Center and has been shown to reduce high blood pressure, diabetes, osteoporosis, and in reducing the risk of cancer.

    The DASH diet for beginners is a wonderful "tool" for those battling high blood pressure, type 2 diabetes and general feelings of ill health.  It is also a great book for those wanting to adopt healthier eating habits and for those wanting to lose weight.  The main theme of the DASH diet is lower sodium intake.  Eating unprocessed foods is also discussed a LOT in this book which is great.  Wonderful recipes, wonderful information, great buy!

    This is a great diet for anyone that is just starting out on a diet. It actually leads to weight loss. This is a diet that does incorporate exercise. I love that it provides a 30 day meal plan with a grocery list which adds to how quickly you can get started. The meals are delicious and have food that I actually like to eat. I enjoyed this dieting plan. This is a great read . I encourage all to read.

    As someone who is very familiar with various diet plans, I agree with the advice given in this book. The Dash Diet focuses on nutritionally-dense foods, high-fiber whole grains, low-fat dairy, lots of fruits and vegetables, and lean proteins focused around seafood and poultry. My favorite section of the book is called the “10 Steps to Success” and gives the reader some great advice!

    Dash Diet For Beginners was surprisingly inspiring as over the years I have come across many books, infomercials even
    magazine ads of its kind. However, most of what I have found deemed a little difficult to follow and continuously carry on.

    There are a lot of awesome recipes available and this book is easy to follow from beginning to end. Nothing is hidden and
    you will never seem forced to adhere to any specific recipes or food styles. There are no meals posted to your address
    like a lot of other dieting suggestions and you get the best of both worlds with this book. You have sample recipes but you
    also have the option of just simply following guidelines and doing your own thing to get where you wanna go with your diet
    or even address any form of internal issues you may have. These may range from diabetes to hypertension and the list could go on.

    I say check this book out, there is no way you will be disappointed. There are a lot of suggestions for just about any one.
    And best of all, there is no pressure.

A person simply needs to "pay particular attention to the sodium, fat, additives, and sugar content to make sure these amounts are within the DASH parameters." The author emphasizes that the diet should be combined with exercise (such as walking).

    It was a bit repetitive on the usual tips of eating veggies etc., but I loved having a clear 30 day meal planner with meals that were unusual but doable.  The recipes were great, and definitely helped with my food allergies that I didn’t know I had till I tried their plan.
