    My whole sense of dieting has changed since reading this book, not to mention an improvement in my cholesterol levels. In addition to the easy-to-adopt recipes, this DASH diet book’s four-week meal plan allows me to make the right food choices every day. This book has forever changed my mindset about what I think is good for my body and the foods I’ve been eating have given me newfound energy and inches off my waist!

    This cookbook has been a great resource for me of late. I’ve been trying the DASH diet for a while, but have had some real difficulty sticking with it. A lot of the core foods in the diet can be rather plain. But this cookbook really helped me bring some great flavor out of otherwise boring ingredients. Try the Crispy Thanksgiving Turkey Fillets. There are fantastic!

    I was pleasantly surprised when I read how widely accepted the DASH diet is - from the U.S. government to magazines like the ‘U.S. News and World Report’ - for being a no-frills, no-fad weight-loss approach. The central hook is to lower one’s sodium by consuming about 2,000 per day. It explains why you won’t feel deprived or tired, and how research proves this out.  I thought the book did a good job articulating types of food to increase or decrease and the easy-to-read food group guidelines and serving-size table. I also liked the handy way it suggests to measure portion size. There are weekly recipes and shopping lists, and it offers ways to make the most out of breakfast, lunch and dinner by doing things like eating a protein-rich snack. Overall, I was pleased. This was a good resource for someone with hypertension or owns one too many pairs of tight pants.

    It seems to me to be easier to follow although, with any diet, it is a life style change. Extensive instruction on what to buy, how to cook it, and daily menus to follow.

    Highly recommended

    As I'm getting older I have realized without health everything else changes. My husband has to watch salt and I have to watch my weight. This book supports both. It is easy to read and find information you need. I believe this will make my commitment for healthy eating much easier. I am tired of "diet food". This book shows me how to prepare real food in a healthy way and even sets limits I can understand on "forbidden" foods. I will be using this information until it becomes natural to me.

    DASH is a healthy eating lifestyle, not a fly-by-night crash diet.  DASH uses lots of spices, and you make many of your own condiments, sauces, and dressings. You aren’t forced to deprive yourself of foods you really like (although there’s an extensive list of foods to avoid).  Added bonuses: many easy and tasty recipes, daily and weekly tips, ways to plan ahead, and a list of reputable references.  There’s something here for everyone.

    Over 60 recipes aim to eliminate saturated fat, cholesterol, and refined sugar through more meats, fish, poultry, low-fat dairy, veggies, and whole grains. Part 2 gives you a plan and time-saving techniques. Part 1 explains the targeted calorie intake (around 2,000 grams) and includes lots of clear charts and workable lists (ex, foods to avoid). In total, it's a comprehensive guide and program that doesn't require a dramatic change in diet to increase your health!

    Down to your shopping list, this author plans every step along the way to a healthier, new you. The plan involves eating six small meals a day with a variety of foods that are both good for your and nutritionally balanced so that you don't feel hungry or malnourished. At the same time, the author makes it possible for you not to feel as though you're chained to your stove by preplanning every step along the way, so that you can pretty much get most of the prep work done early in the week or on the weekend. Overall, I think this book's great if you're looking for a balanced meal plan.

    A must have tool for a complete and healthy plan! There's a very handy food shopping list to use when following the recipes each week. It has a nutrious and low calorie menu so I don't feel deprived. Since I feel satisfied I am easily able to exercise daily,  and am feeling lighter already. Our family found the Green Lasagna to be a new fav dish. There are also some very yummy dessert recipes!  Here's to great health!
