    The DASH Diet Cookbook delivers exactly what it promises- dozen of delicious recipes that line up perfectly with the principles of the
    DASH Diet. You can find recipes for breakfast, lunch, dinner, and dessert, as well as a plethora of snacks. The best part is the instructions
    are simple to follow, so you don’t have to be a Top Chef contestant to figure them out. Plus they’re all healthy, full of flavor, and they
    contain everyday ingredients you won’t have to travel to a specialty store to find. Did I mention they’re super yummy yet?

    Within my Nutrition Counseling practice I recommend the DASH Diet Cookbook to all of my clients.  
    The recipes are easy, delicious, and provide a variety of tastes so that a healthy eating lifestyle is never boring.  
    With everything from breakfast to dessert to party foods, there is plenty of variation of meals and it’s actually somewhat exciting.  
     I think everyone who wants to live a long healthy life should use this book as a staple in their personal library.

    I've heard about the DASH (Dietary Approaches to Stop Hypertension) but never fully understood its capabilities to completely change your life. This book is a great insight to just what the DASH diet targets, and how easy it is to make the switch. The diet focuses on great advantages such as lowering blood pressure, sodium, saturated fats, increase healthy fats, and reduce the risk of diabetes. This book stood out to me because it really eases you into the diet, giving you guides to easily portion your food, a 14-day cooking plan, and a 28-day work out plan to help maximize healthy living. I recommend this  to anyone who wants to eat better and start taking their health seriously with a legitimate diet.

    I love to cook, and these recipes are all super simple and tasty.  So far I’ve made almost all of the breakfasts, (the breakfast hash and the eggs Benedict are my favorites). The seafood and chicken dinners that I’ve tried have been really good. The DASH plan was created to be safe and effective for people with diabetes and heart disease. It’s not a dramatic diet type of plan like South beach where you cut out all the carbs. I like it a lot because it is in line with common sense eating and stuff you would normally want to eat. There is a guide here about how to calculate your metabolic rate, and your body mass index. I have never seen those formulas before; they are really helpful.

    I’m skeptical of any diet that seems too good to be true. If it was on Dr. Phil or some starlet says it worked for him or her, that’s good enough reason for me to dismiss the “diet.” But this isn’t a “too good to be true” scenario. I was very surprised to discover in this cookbook that this diet is based on research from the National Institutes of Health. While “DASH” says crash diet to me, it seems to be quite the opposite. The acronym stands for Dietary Approaches to Stop Hypertension. You can lose weight on the diet, but the main goal is to create healthy meals that don’t taste terrible. Beyond the health factor, the food is good. I’m just getting started, so I haven’t tried everything, but I can recommend the Breakfast Hash, the Eggs Benedict (with avocado!), and the Baked Ziti. The book is not an instruction manual and it’s not just a cookbook. It has a guide to staying healthy and approaches that will aid you in whatever your goals are. Most importantly, it has tons of really fantastic recipes.

    The Dash Diet is comprised of years of research from doctors and scientific personnel, and was actually picked by US News & World Report as the “Best Diet for Healthy Eating” as well as the “Best Diabetes Diet.” While I don’t have diabetes, I can certainly see the benefits of eating according to the diet. It focuses on low sodium, high fiber, low-fat dairy, fresh fruits and veggies, lean meats, etc. The cookbook has great tips on how to reduce your salt intake (try herbes de Provence!) as well as other tips on how to succeed and take control of your health. I appreciated the various lists, which will no doubt help busy moms/students/professionals with grocery shopping and menu planning. The recipes look amazing and the variety was great: a Middle Eastern lunch followed by an Asian-inspired dinner? Perfect!

    The DASH cookbook isn't just a cookbook. It's a 2 in 1; a cookbook and a health plan. It seeks to get you healthier by eating right. These recipes are delicious, but healthy and provides recipes from around the globe. One thing's for sure, you'll never get bored of eating the same foods over and over again, which is what annoys me the most about “diets” or "eating healthy."

    Eating Healthy and losing weight too
    The best of all worlds is included in this Dash diet cookbook.  This is a cookbook, menu planner and workout all in one book.  
    The science behind the health benefits are clearly explained and really make sense.  For people who already have health issues
    such as hypertension, diabetes, and high cholesterol should find this a good resource with great recipes to try.
    This is a great book to add to your recipe library, but better yet a great health plan that sounds doable for everyone.

This easy to read and even easier to follow cookbook has a day-day schedule that anyone can follow and its obvious why its been recommended by The National Heart, Lung and Blood Institute, and American Heart Association among others.

    I admit it¿I read every diet book that comes down the pike, and here’s one I can really endorse. The DASH Diet was developed by the National Institutes of Health, Johns Hopkins and Duke University among others, so it’s no fad. And after you go through all the math¿figuring out your BMI and basal metabolic rate¿the rest is surprisingly simple. There’s no deprivation and the recipes are a snap (no fancy ingredients I never heard of, thank you very much!). Bottom line, I can actually stick with it.

    The meals in this DASH Diet cookbook are beyond delicious!
     I love that I'm learning to season my food without over-salting, or even using any salt at times!
    The detailed prep instructions are wonderful without being overly wordy and help greatly with the
     transition to the diet. I have my own workout plan for now, but I like that it includes one if I want to
     switch it up. If you're more than twenty twice, that's the age group that heart disease, diabetes and
    high blood start to manifest, so do yourself a favor and get this cookbook!

By providing strategies for BMI calculation and calorie intake monitoring, this recipe books gives more than just amazing recipes. Not only are readers and dieters provided with recipes by genre, such as breakfasts, dinners, soups, etc, but they are also given background information on basic dieting techniques. This book gives individuals many resources to start a successful diet.

    I am not a huge fan of books that are about diets and the DASH Diet Cookbook but this book had some really good recipes that I can see myself making! Just a warning though, this book is not mostly recipies!

    The Dash Diet Cookbook is amazing because it is not only filled with delicious, healthy recipes but it is also an information hotspot for the Dash Diet. There are several chapters in the beginning of the book committed to explaining the science behind the Dash Diet, the health benefits, planning and transitioning into the diet itself, shopping guides, menu plans, and even calorie requirements! There are so many great recipes for so many different occasions, its hard not to love this book!

The recipes are easy to follow with simple ingredients and look delicious. It might not be easy to change my lifestyle or eating habits, but DASH diet looks like a good way to start.

    and meal plans as well as the savory recipes.

    The tastiest foods are often the unhealthiest, but this book proves that doesn’t always have to be true. Designed to lower blood pressure by decreasing sodium intake, the recipes are just as delicious and satisfying as the high fat and stroke inducing versions. Ingredients loaded with a lot of unnecessary fat and salt are replaced with healthier ones without sacrificing any of the flavors. Unhealthy diets are to blame for many common health problems such as heart disease and diabetes, and following the advice and recipes in this book is a simple and easy way of helping prevent such conditions.

        Author, John Chatham, did not create the DASH Diet to help people lose weight, otherwise it would be like every other fad diet out there. Instead, this book is designed to lower high blood pressure and, in turn, create over all healthiness.
        DASH, an acronym for Dietary Approaches to Stop Hypertension, explains it all. This diet is endorsed by the American Heart Association and other agencies and institutions to have an extensive positive effect on your health. The DASH dietary plan is recommended for young and old alike, as a proven method to lower LDL cholesterol and triglycerides and increase HDL cholesterols.
        There are so many easy and delicious recipes, along with step by step plans designed to reduce sodium intake (lowering hypertension), increase fiber intake (leveling blood sugars), increase heart health by reducing saturated fat and transfat, and increase healthy fats by incorporating Omega-3 rich foods. In turn, following the DASH dietary plan not only reduces high blood pressure, but Type 2 Diabetes, heart disease, kidney stones, and even improves digestive and colon health.
        Personally, I like the Potato-Sausage Breakfast Bake and the Beef Tostadas (I substituted ground turkey for beef). The recipes are fresh and delicious, and I can't wait to try one of the dessert recipes!
