All Music Guide - Andrew Leahey
With Colbie Caillat and Sara Bareilles topping the charts, the market is ripe in 2008 for a solo artist like Brendan James. For fans of confessional acoustics, a la James Taylor, Grant Lee Phillips, or even an XY-chromosomed Colbie Caillat, topped with nougaty piano flourishes.

    Amazing music...

I am not at all surprised to finally see a CD. I've known Brendan since high school and he has always been so wonderful to listen to. His music reminds you of memories and times in your own life. You'll see!!! You will not be disappointed in buying and listening to this cd!!

by far the best debut CD this yr the music stay with you all day a true story for those who see the world as it is now. Brendan display a very enjoyable sound that hasn't been heard since the early yrs of true music. Runaway is a must ...the best as far as I can hear. Look for great thing from Brendan in the near further. Good luck Brendan...you work hard for it..enjoy it!!

    Good job

I bought this CD on a whim (as I do most music) and it was not disappointing. What I enjoy the most is James' flair for a neatly-turned phrase and the beautiful harmonies he employs. The album is fairly peaceful, which is always nice. The only thing I can't understand is why he sounds like he has an English accent if he grew up on the East Coast. Very strange...

    You won't regret buying this!!!!

This album is fantastic. Each song brings new meaning to life - Most are based on experiences Brendan's been through, and his music has touched my heart since the very beginning. Please give him a chance and buy his album - and if you can, definitely try to see one of his shows!!! I have been waiting years and years for this CD and it is well worth the wait!

    A reviewer

I have been waiting for this CD to come out for about 8 months now, and boy did it not disappoint. Brendan is not only a great, great person (I met with him at SXSW this year), but he has the voice and poetic lyrics to match his charm. Most of his songs are written as true stories that everyone can relate with, whether its that girl that you love but can never understand why she always wears green, or a non-political ode to all of the heros of the war in Middle East. There is something very calming about Brendan's voice that no matter what troubles you, chances are it will work out in one way or another. This CD is a true masterpiece for a debut album, it is a must buy for anyone that has ever liked any song in any genre.
