Meet the Author

MaryJo Dawson enjoyed a satisfying career as a practicing nurse, most of it working in obstetrics. In her heroine, Sally Nimitz, she's combined that background with a lifelong enjoyment of old-fashioned mystery novels and writing. She lives with her husband in a small town at the foothills of the Rocky Mountains in southeastern Colorado.

    Highly Recommend!

I don't usually read a 611 page book--let alone read it in a week--but this is a fast-paced book that moves along quickly. Some may not enjoy all the descriptive details of the surrounding settings which move from Indiana, to Wisconsin, to Virginia, to England and back to Indiana, but the descriptions made the multiple settings come alive. Also, it was impossible to unravel the puzzle of Amelia Marsh's death until the end when all the pieces fit neatly together.

    Enjoyable reading

I've never read this author before but I was pleasantly surprised by the length and detail to this freebie. If you like the idea of everyones life being a story and that something doesn't have to blow up to be a good story then I would definitely recommend this one!

    a very interesting story

It had a little too much detail for my taste that I just skipped over; but it was still a very good book.

    Good

A good mystery though at times it did drag on and on about things that seemed unrelated to the mystery.

    ***** Great Read!
Couldn't put the book down...didn't get much housework done but I loved the way she writes. The free book was tops and I will buy her next one. Keep up the good work.

Enjoyed reading this crime novel. It goes to prove there is usually much more to people than the neighbors think.

    Enjoyable

At times this book seemed to flounder. The author seemed to have problems deciding which side of the pond she was writting from. The book was funny at times and had an okay murder/ mystery. It was a decent length, free and okay edited. It was a fast read and held my interest, but was not outstanding. A pleasant read for a stormy afternoon. A Chick type of mystery. Ages 16 and up.

    More novel than mystery

Ok in it's way but not much of a mystery. I like cozy mysteries and this isn't even that category.

    Good Story

I gave the book 4 stars due in part that I felt the story at times seemed to drag on a bit too much. It also appeared at times that the author could not make her mind if she was a british writer trying to write an american story or an American writing as a Brit. Her choice of dialogue at times made me forget the story was taking place in the mid section of the country and not across the ocean.
