this book was the best so far in the series. its about abby hayes..(obviously) trying to show her family that she is mature enough to go to a festival, with just friends, and not her family. abby has all kinds of ideas to convince her parents that she is mature enough, but just when she thinks things are going well, everything backfires. watch out for a suprise ending guys..enjoy!

It was awesome! I loved it! It showed that even though sometimes it seems like you can never show your parents your mature, you end up showing them in a way you never thought would! Great book! I have read all of the Abby Hayes books out and can't wait for more!

Have you ever tried to show that you are growing up,and your privlages should be expanded? Thats what Abby thinks! The Fall Festavaile is coming up in a cupple of weeks and insted of going with her little brother, Alex, like ever year she wants to go with her friends Jessica and Nataile, but her parents dont think that she's old enough yet. But to prove she is Abby works extra hard to show that she is mature and grown up. She goes threw lots of plan before she comes to one that is a shocker, and a plan to end all plans.

When I first saw the title of this book, I was thinking this book is going to be stupid. When I started to read the beginning of the book it was boring. Then when I got into the book I saw why it was called The Declaration of Independence. I LOVE THIS BOOK!!!!!!!!!!

This is yet another great Abby Hayes book! It's about how Halloween is coming up and that means the Halloween festivle is too! Abby really wants to go with her friends and be on her own at it since she is finally if the fifth grade. Abby really wants to be with her friends and she has to prove to her family that she is responsible enough to be just with her friends! Can she do it?

In this novel, Anne Mazer has written about the funny, determined individual of Abbey Hayes. In this novel Abbey wants to go to the big school festival with her friends, not her brother. She tries to be more murture, using every way posibble to pursuade her parents that she is adult-like and responsible. In the end, after many struggles, she finally works out a plan making her, and her family happy. This book is great for people in 4th or 5th grade who want a story to relate to.
