    Cuppy is Brilliant

This book is a rare find--it deals with history's most colorful characters, managing to be simultaneously hilarious, witty, wry, insightful, and true. From a man who can catch the OED in error, humor is the last thing you'd expect, and you get it in spades.

    Good history

As painless a history lesson as you'll ever get. Unless, of course, you have heart attack or asthma attack from the laughter.

Happened to find this book when I was in my early teens (a few decades ago), and it helped me keep a sense of perspective (to say nothing of better grades) through high school social-studies classes. Cuppy has a really sharp sense of humor, and to this day (and a few hundred books later) it's one of my top five favorite and most memorable books.
