The Decorator

The Decorator

by Florence De Dampierre

Editorial Reviews

Library Journal - Library Journal
This is a very elegant presentation of biographical sketches of 50 international interior decorators, with photographs of the decorators' own homes. The outstanding photographs reflect well the tastes and talents of the designers. Unfortunately, the biographies are presented in a chatty, high school yearbook style, with baby pictures and lists of likes and dislikes. This reduces the book's usefulness as a biographical reference, since specific dates, names of parents, etc., are frequently omitted. However, few of these decorators are found in the standard biographical sources, and this book does fill a need in the interior decorating field. Recommended for decorative arts collections.-- Constance Ashmore Fairchild, Univ. of Illinois Lib., Urbana-Champaign
