    Most Informative and Very Frightning

As a paranormal Investigator and one of Christian faith, I found this book to be must reading regardless of your religious views. No Ghost researcher or paranormal investigator should be without this book on there book shelf. No paster should be without this book. The Warrens have given us less then a book of stories and more a book of advice on how to deal with extreme matters. prevention is always the best medicine and this book proves that point, they inform us how not to invite these forces into our lives, they explain the various stages that one can expect to run into, the symptoms to look for, and how to possibly prevent a situation from growing worse that require extreme measures. The demonstrate how lack of knowledge led to some of there most extreme cases and how knowledge about the unseen world is power. The Warrens have been a blessing to many and we very blessed to have this book with the knowledge they share. It's foolish to pretend we have all the answers, most churches would just prefer to pretend these situations don't exsist leaving many to fend for themselves. Many paranormal investigators would prefer to believe the same thing. But from one who has witnessed something abit more minor then what the Warrens have discussed, I can say that investigators and clergy are in the wrong line of work if that is there attitude regarding this topic. To those not in the field, it would be wise to read this so you hopefully never have to call either of us for our services.

    Very educational

Wow, this was one I didn't see coming! It's like reading a text book. You have to take in so much that doesn't make sense to our rational sense. I wish I took notes looking back now that I'm almost done with the book. I just read one chapter at a time then try to reflect back on as to what was say & I say "what the?" : ) If this is truly fact then it's a real eye opener. It's quite scary to think that demons and devils are always around us. That's truly an unpleasant thought and I'd say a very negative thought. So I'm actually looking forward to finishing the book and moving on because this is really a subject matter you don't want to dwell on. If this book is fact then Ed & Lorraine Warren are true saints because anyone that would risk their own lifes for complete strangers are completely remarkable. What a calling they had and for them to meet! It seems it was meant to be. So many people owe their lifes to them.

    Amazing Book

I was truly enthralled with this book. It was incredibly interesting and well written. It read like both a textbook and novel, which made it very interesting. This isn't a book for those interested in ghosts. However, if you are interested in demonology, this book is definitely for you.

    Life Altering!

This book is amazing! How many people watch television without ever realizing such matters plague us? Reading this book allows one to delve into the paranormal field without becoming a victim of its wraith, and the career of Ed and Lorraine Warren is unique to say the least! There my be a movie coming out soon regarding the careers of these two extraordinary individuals, and I will be the first one to see it (if so)! I've tried to think of something to say to prepare the reader for this book, but nothing in the English language can sum it all up! One must delve into the field for one's self... For those who've already experienced the paranormal in one way or another, this is a must read! For all the others.... Prepare yourselves with a startling look at the often dark (and often light) World which surrounds us all! Ed and Lorraine Warren are the type of individuals that the rest of us aspire to be! Be sure to seek out and read their other books as well!

    I'm a believer

This book is one of th most informational book i have ever read. Besides the fact that the ghost phenomenon is explained in laymans terms, I can no longer go to the bathroom without looking behind the shower curtain. This book is scary because I'ts true.

    Good Read

This book will definitely make any skeptic at least think about the chances of their being real evil in this world. I read entire book in one sitting, and enjoyed almost all of it. I'd recommend it for anyone looking to delve into the nasty side of the paranormal....

    For the open minded.

For the open minded and curious its a wonderful read, Its a well written book with detailed stories and interviews with the Warrens. Its a informative book on all things paranormal, evil and what's just "Hollywood" version. The warrens give lengthy explanations of the Catholic faith and were the Church stands in all of this. I enjoyed every second of this book, its a spooky read never the less.

I`m very impressed by the Warrens, I enjoyed this book very much

I`m very impressed by the Warrens, I enjoyed this book very much, and I think the debate whether this is a work of fiction vs non-fiction is beyond the point, because it falls in the category of the religious-a very subjective area in and by itself-meaning it can`t be proven scientifically-and is base on belief. People need to make up their own mind whether this is real or not and whatever the outcome is, it`ll be ok.

The book begins by relating the Amityville story(not in-dept though), mentioning the three o`clock hour-LOLs I hated when I wake up at the time in the middle of the night- and giving a brief account of the unfortunate family(Lutz) that was hunted in their recently bought home in 1975-76. That`s it for the Amityville, do not expect to find more here, nor will you find any information here regarding the new movie "The Conjuring" that story is vaguely told in another book "House of Darkness House of Light" by Andrea Perron herself a victim/experiencer of the saga-Hollywood stretched the movie " The Conjuring" way too much-.

That being said, this is a great book, a good read though listed with a disclaimer that is a fictional book, nothing can`t be further from the truth-in a subjective way since its a matter of belief not science-. even though Ed Warren would disagree with my statement adding that this phenomena it`s a matter of evidence.

In essence what I take from this book is that God exist, and so other realms and realities unexplainable in conventional terms do indeed exist too, but never forget regardless of your particular creed that God is always in control. The Warren affirm through their own experiences that haunted houses exist; the supernatural exist; the inhuman demonic spirits exist; and that ghost exist, also that these entities need physical energy to manifest either from the person own aura, or from the atmosphere or the electrical grid. And unlike ghosts, inhuman entities feed on fear and horror because they are entities that never walked the Earth-they are the Fallen Angels-they love to dwell in places where negative energy flows such as where illegal drug deals, prostitution, murdered, quarrels, fights, cheating or for that matter witchcraft have taken place, that`s an invitation for those entities to come into anyone`s life.

This book is a warning to all of us not to mess around with the negative entities, by being bi-curious about the occult, and bringing about a possible infestation, oppression, or possession into someone`s life, Ed said, it is like an accident waiting to happen either by the law of invitation or the law of attraction. In the words of Ed Warren "Good begets good, and bad begets worse" so being positive is our best bet against evil, putting the forces of the cosmos in our favor building a good life for ourselves and those around us.
As much as I enjoyed reading this book, truth to be told, I highly doubt that most people will ever encounter similar events as the one`s unfolded in this excellent book, people in general are good, decent and hard working and for the most part hold beliefs in some sort of higher power-either through personal believe in Jesus, The Virgin Mary, Saints, Angels, or through good prophets such as Budha, muhammad, or Moses, etc, but there`s no doubt all of us will one day encounter the one to four percent(1 in 25) of demons walking among us, in our Jobs, churches, families and communities. I`m talking about the beings that lacking a total conscience, have no empathy and feel no remorse The Psychopaths-Sociopaths, beware because they will leave you broken spiritually, financially, & emotionally. Those demons are the ones we need to protect against the most. And take the advice of the Warrens seriously as well, remember emotions at home can trigger the phenomena describe in this book, and a happy home is the best defense.

I recommend this book, also see "The Rite" by Matt Baglio base on Father Garry Thomas and I also recommend books on psychopathy such as Ph.D George K Simon "In Sheep`s clothing" & Ph.D Robert D Hare "Without a conscience" or Jon Ronson "Psychopath Test"

I could not put this book down! I am not a paranormal investigator just interested in the subject matter. Talk about a day job - not on my worst day could I possibly imagine switching with Ed & Lorraine. They have certainly been hand picked by God to help the helpless. If nothing else and you choose not to purchase this book…DO NOT PLAY WITH SPIRIT BOARDS!!! NEVER NEVER NEVER! The Devils greatest trick was to convince people he does not exsitist - He does.
