The author was interviewed on a local public radio station and after hearing what she had to say about her books, I went to B&N and bought The Diet Cure. After reading it, I ordered 15 copies for family & friends. This book is probably the most concise and thorough on the subject of eating healthy, and I have read several. Even if you only take away a few things, it can dramatically change your life and health.
I have been a longtime sugar/fat/chocolate craver. After just one day on the suggested supplements, I truly did not crave these things. I thought about them as a matter of habit, but was easily able to dismiss them. After 3 weeks, I still don't. This isn't a light read, though. To get the full benefit, you really need to pay attention and do your homework. Take lots of notes. Everything you need is there in the book.

Fantastic book. I was skeptical, but tried it because I didn't want to spend the rest of my life on antidepressants. 4 months later, I was drug free and my body was making the essential amino acids on its own. You can tell when you are not ready to stop taking a particular amino acid. I was so amazed at how easy it was and now, 9 years later, I still feel great - no depression breakthoughs. I HIGHLY recommend this book!
I feel I have done so many other types of diets, but now I don't have to diet...I found the diet CURE! Julia Ross educates her readers to understand why and what we should be eating and gives us the tolls to do it effortlessly. The amino acids are the true wonder drug that so many people with weight problems have been looking for! So read this book and change your life!!!! Thank you Ms Ross.
I like this book because it contains very readable, well researched information about how eating enough of the right kinds of foods, curbing cravings by balancing the brain chemistry with amino acids and use of the correct type and amount of supplementation are vital to the elimination/prevention of cravings, mood swings, energy slumps, weight imbalance and disease plagueing so many of us. Following Julia Ross's suggestions, along with her references for support and advice for testing to determine current hormonal chemistry, yeast overgrowth and parasite possibilities is a big step toward wellness. This book, which includes simple to follow guidelines and sample meals, made it alot easier than most, and has become a general nutrition 'bible' to me.
