Really enjoyed this book, although it felt like not much was happening expect of the (attempt) muders that kept on happening. Quite an interesting twist at the end of the book. Good read, although the challenge with this mystery series continues to be the number of (characters) in the book, which to follow the book you have to keep straight.

I really enjoyed this mystery, but I couldn't bring myself to give it five stars because some of the character decisions bummed me out. The murder and its featured case of victims and suspects in this book are almost surely the best Davis has given us yet. The mystery aspect was well paced, features attention holding and colorful key players, and has just enough subtle misdirection to leave you sure you've got it when you really haven't more then once. However, I was sad that some supporting cast I had grown to love were missing (Humphrey for example), and I felt like Mars was being crammed down my throat whether I liked it or not. In fact, the whole reasoning behind Sophie dropping Wolf was so weak that when coupled with the intense focus on a more lovable and less slippery Mars then we have ever seen before (he almost felt like a totally new character) I got the feeling Davis was being forced to manufacture some sort of love triangle that wasn't coming to her authentically. To be fair, I have a feeling we haven't seen the last of Wolf, as (spoiler) the idea that he is going to get right back together with his long lost wife is too ridiculous to bare, leaving me fairly certain there will be a change in that circumstance in the next book. We'll see! Regardless, I would have rather seen Sophie have a fun fling with hot Troy then read more of this recreating of Mars for the better and Wolf for the worse.

All Sophie wants to do is sit back and relax and enjoy her one w

All Sophie wants to do is sit back and relax and enjoy her one week of vacation. Natasha is not going to let that happen. She has plans to become a television star and she is going to use Sophie's backyard to put her plan in motion. She has entered Sophie to be on the show Tear It With Troy and Sophie has won a backyard makeover.

Natasha has things under control and is driving the host Troy absolutely crazy. It is the perfect time for Sophie to make her getaway. She decides she is going to hideout, I mean head over, to her boyfriend Wolf's house to replace a dead rose bush that she was planning to do to surprise him before all the hoopla landed at her house.

Sophie quickly learns "no good deed goes unpunished" when she digs up more than a dead rose bush. She also digs up a purse and according to the information inside it belongs to Wolf's wife, his wife that has been missing for years.

Things don't look good for Wolf. Of course he is the number one suspect. His mother-in-law running around town saying he murdered her daughter doesn't help matters. Our Domestic Diva is on the case. She will dig up the clues to lead her to the real culprit.

I have to admit I was laughing out loud for many parts of this book. This is not your typical murder mystery or even typical cozy mystery. It is so freaking good!!:) It is a little dark in places and has crazy twists and turns. I was even a little tearful a couple times.

I just love Sophie. She is an independent woman that doesn't back down to a challenge and she knows when to pick her battles. The last thing she wanted was her backyard bulldozed but decided a makeover may not be an awful idea. Plus it kept Natasha busy, she really needs to get her house keys back from that woman.

There were a few interesting characters in this installment but Desdemona was by far the most curious. I won't call her a stalker but she definitely was a lurker. Showing up in unexpected places.

There is also more than murder happening around this town, a expensive piece of art goes missing, a plethora of poisoning seems to be occurring, and what the heck is that smell.

Krista Davis has a winner on her hands. The Diva Digs Up the Dirt is a fresh and exciting who-dun-it you won't be able to put down.

    Highly recommend this series.

Love this series. Have read all 6 and can't wait until the next one comes out. Surprise ending to Diva Dig the Dirt which makes waiting for the next book even more anticipated. The main characters in this series keep the story line going and exciting.

This is my favorite series. Sophie is so real. All the characters are well written and described and easy to visualize. Old Towne is the perfect setting and seems made for a cozy mystery. I love the "cliff hanger" chapter endings, but it is hard to put it down. I like the mini mysteries set in among the main murder mystery and how they all tie in to the main plot. Krista keeps you guessing until the end and there are always more than a few suprises. I hope this series continues, although I can gaurantee I will be re-reading the series from start to current again!

    Good read

This was a good read and seemed to have more storylines than her previous. I cannot give a 5 star because the kiss and Mar's confession about his feelings from the last book was not developed. I was also very sad concerning Wolf and Sophie's relationship. I do hope we haven't heard the last. I really liked them together (SPOILER).

Doing a good deed at her boyfriend's house leads to a discovery

Doing a good deed at her boyfriend's house leads to a discovery that takes Sophie on a journey with surprising results. What an exciting read that I could not put down. The twists and turns in this frantic paced mystery kept me both intrigued and guessing as the story moved towards a conclusion befitting the title of this wonderfully crafted novel. This series keeps getting better and better and I look forward to the new adventure that awaits them in this delightfully entertaining series.

another great cozy read from ms davis. sophie's boyfriend, wolf, has a dead rose bush in his yard. she decides to replace it and discovers his missing, (for many years) wife's purse, buried in the garden. this leads the authorities to believe the rumors that wolf killed his wife. he disappears, but keeps in touch with sophie. then a dead body appears in is mulch in his yard. is his wife alive or dead? did he kill the man in the mulch? what are his secrets? what if is wife is alive, does that mean sophie has be dating a married man? add to this the fact that her ex's new girlfriend has made arrangements for a home improvement show to build sophie a garage and 'remodel' her back yard. natasha intrudes into sophie's life in any way she can, causing sophie more headaches than a body has a right to. murder, mayhem, and alot of mystery will keep you spellbound while you read this one. i had a hard time putting this one down. family wanted to eat...can you imagine?
