Overview

Amby Burfoot’s Do-It-Yourself Half Marathon Plan is a 12-week training program for anyone running from 6 miles a week to 70. It is geared to "get you from where you are to where you want to be."

The Training Plan provides all the completeness, detail, gradual build-up, and scientific foundation of other half-marathon training plans costing $30 to $100 and more. Your 12-week plan will include Long Runs, Race-Pace Simulations, Speed Work, Recovery Weeks, and Taper Weeks—all completely individualized to your ability and your preferred training schedule (ie, days and miles per week).

No other half-marathon plan does more. No other similar plan costs less.

What's more, every run is personalized to your appropriate pace. You won’t run too slow or too fast. You’ll run at a pace that’s achievable, and also geared to maximize your fitness improvement.

It will take you just 5-10 minutes to complete the 6 Steps to your DIY Half-Marathon Plan. You’ll need only pencil and lined paper, or Calendar, Word, or Excel if you choose to create a digital product.

The DIY Half-Marathon has been designed for time-pressed runners. It allows you to keep your normal running pattern--3 times a week, or 4, or 5, etc--throughout the full 12 weeks. It doesn’t force you to change your routine or to find extra days that you just don't have. Instead, it builds your running mile-by-mile on the days when you can run.

The DIY Marathon plan is simple, effective, and high in value. In addition, author Amby Burfoot provides an email where you can contact him to ask questions.
