I bought this book with Nook and it only goes up to page 239 and the bibliography starts on page 220.. it says the recipes are on page245.

I bought this last night for my Nook and I can't put it down, i'm very impressed. This book will help me do wonders with my eating habits.

Really good content and advice with recipes. The web based downloads just fine. For the person who said the BMI chart doesn't download appropriately, there is no age 38. It's by height and weight and the top #'s are what your BMI is, not age. You can also change the font size settings so that it won't cut off sentences, etc.

I enjoyed this book, Dr Travis writes just likes he talks, easy and friendly! I bought my daughter and son in law copies because they are changing their habits and trying to eat healthy. My son in law said he did even pick up a few new ideas of good things to eat. It is a good common sense approach to loosing weight, rather than so many fad diets I've tried. I'm glad I bought it!

I didn't find anything new in this book. The first two whole chapters simply told about why he wrote the book. It was like one big infomercial for the book. When it got to the meat of the book, I found it to be just a renaming of already accepted principles. I found no new groundbreaking information. Don't bother reading it.

I started reading this the other day and I am impressed with the approach that Dr. Travis Stork takes. I am going to try some of his recipes and I am sure I will like them. I saw the Dr.'s show on this and I love t he idea of not counting calories! Sounds like "my kind" of diet.

I found the book is very interesting. The book tells you the same things other books tell you to avoid but it tells you why to avoid them. I like that the choice is up to you. When reading the book you get the feeling it is written by someone that cares. I have followed the advice and have loss 6 pounds already. I really think i will be able to stay with it this time (I hope so i have a extreme amount of weight to lose)

To all the people upset about the BMI page.. BMI is Height & Weight = Body Mass Index.. It has nothing to do with age.. Obesity is a BMI of 30 or greater.. The page is fine, you don't need to go more than 30 and the next page tells you what group you fall in.. Great Book!!

Where do I start. The book itself may not be that bad, but the Nook Book is terrible. The page numbers that help your find the recipes are not correct so you have to go searching for the recipes everyday. Flipping back and forth back and forth several times a day just to find the recipes and know when to eat them. Then to top it off some of the recipes do not have all the complete information so you don't know if your need 1 cup of vinegar or 1 tablespoon. An absolute mess. Spend the extra money and buy the real book. Save yourself the stress. I will not be using this Nook. Waste of money.

I have been fallowing this books plan for almost a month now, it is pretty easy to fallow. The recipes that he gives are Amazingly easy to make and taste Awesome. I like that he gives example menus but makes it simple for you to make your own. I would defiantly recommend this book.

Although the gist of what he says has been said before, most people need to hear - and think about - something a number of times before taking it in. I really liked the section called Life-Saving Food Prescriptions - especially the points about mindful eating, reading labels, and breaking your sugar addiction.

Good book, some information that most chronic dieters already know, however the recipes and food ideas alone are worth the read. alot of good, new ideas and options for healthy eating.

I purchased the ebook and am very confused. The book is incomplete. The ebook only goes through page 238 and does not include any of the recipes. I am very disappointed.

Good information. The daily diet charts are extremly hard in the nook. This is one book I would rather have in hardback book. Easier to refer back to.

I bought this book as a Nook Book. Sadly, the information did not parse appropriately. There are pages which docnot finish the sentence and the BMI chart only shows through age 38. Im hoping the rest of the book is readable.ge

WOW! been on the diet for 2 days and already lost 3 pounds!!! LOVE this book!! It's not really a diet but a guide to healthier eating!!! and it's NOT expensive food either!!! not to mention, you don't have to count calories or have so many points per day!!! The meals keep you full and they are delicious!!! if I could give Dr. Travis Stork a hug right now, I would!!!! BEST BOOK EVER!

Bought this through my Nook. Enjoyed reading it and learned alot, but when I went to make some of the recipes he talks about, the Nook does not include them. Not happy about that, what did I pay for anyway?

Had never purchased Nook Books before. If you are a 1st time buyer, note that you will NOT be able to print certain parts of some ebooks. Also be aware you have only 7 days to review before requesting a credit. I was hoping to print recipes and meal plans from the Doctors Diet Book. Barnes and Noble DENIED my credit request after 21 days. Ignorance is not an excuse

The most important idea this book provides is to chose the foods that you eat carefully and with the knowledge of why they are good for your health. Like most diet books though it's a case of "one size fits all". In the end I decided to get the help of a dietician.

I bought this book thinking it would give m lots of pointers in how to diet. Unfortunately, it was not all I expected, and it ended up at the bottom of my shelf. On the upside it was an OKAY book.

To those who have a problem of getting the BMI after 30 on the chart, use this Math equation. ( Weight x 703) divided by ( Height square) and press the equal sign. That give you the total. Here is an example. (160 x 703) divided by ( 68 x 68 ) = 24.32 of BMI. or Body Mass Index

I own the hardcover book and like it very much. Travis talks from experience as a concerned doctor as well as a guy who loves good food. This book wants us to take responsibility for what we eat and the consequences for our choices, but does not promote trendy diets. He explains current thoughts (such as the new controversy about saturated fats being OK) but also notes that science & research is forever changing, so we must stay alert and make our own choices based on evolving data as it becomes available. He discusses gluten-free diets and why it is not a good choice for 99% of the population. I have recommended this book to many people, mainly as a great book on nutrition, even if weight is not an issue.

I love this book. It has so many good ideas. Much of it is common sense, but I need to read common sense again and again and again. Dr. Stork has given this book a lot of thought and done a lot of research. The two-week segments that I can go on are easy to follow and make sense. I still follow a calorie maximum that is lower than he says, but this is because of my height. I would recommend this to anyone. No extremes in this diet.
