Overview

Sure, the glass castle floating over Evan's head's a little unsettling, but that's the least of his worries. With each step inside the Dungeon of Dreadful Dreams, he must battle against his own worst nightmares. One after the other, bull sharks and sea sirens come at him ... he must remember they are only illusions pulled from his imagination by shadow-like hands. If only the vengeful dragon circling above were also an illusion and didn't have his mind set on destroying the one person who can control him - Emrys.
In the tower made of glass, the great wizard sleeps in an eternal slumber, and Evan's uncertain whether he can save him. Especially, now that Emrys' former student, the Lady of the Lake, has joined forces with the cunning immortal Alamaz. Together, they have already stolen the Dragon's Egg, but their greed doesn't end there. The Siren's Pearl calls to them, and that means only one thing ... Atlantis is in trouble.
Travel with Evan, Claire, and Dunkle, as well as a few more unlikely heroes, across the realm of Medieval Legends, through the Ancient Isle of Avalon, inside the Dungeon of Dreadful Dreams, and be there when Atlantis rises once again.
Perfect for readers of middle grade fantasy.

Meet the Author

A magical part of H.B. Bolton's childhood was being swept into worlds of enchanting characters, fantastical creatures and extraordinary powers--simply by picking up a book. As a mother and a teacher, she was compelled to create imaginary worlds of her own in order to share them, not just with her children, but with all children. H.B. Bolton lives in Florida with her supportive husband and two highly spirited children. Shh, can you keep a secret? Not only does she write books for the young-at-heart, adventurous sort who yearn to dive into a good young-adult fantasy story, she also writes spellbinding, heart pounding women's fiction. These particular books are written under the name Barbara Brooke, but that's another story, altogether.

I thought The Dragon’s Egg (Relics of Mysticus Book 3) by H.B. Bolton was an astounding book that readers of all ages will be able to enjoy over and over. I should mention that I have not read the first two books but found that book three can be read as a standalone. From the very start you will be transported into the world of H.B. Bolton. Main characters Even, Clarie, Dunkle and even the imp are developed with a unique blend of perfection and originality that is personable as well as likeable. The way the characters think, feel, act and envision their destiny is written in such a descriptive manner that I felt it placed me in the center of all the action. All of the characters venture forth on their quest to find the missing relics. They cross enchanted landscapes and realms that are vividly illustrated, making everything come alive with each turn of the page.

I thought the storyline and plot theme were written in a thought-provoking manner that could capture the attention of readers. Granted, this is book is mainly intended for middle grade readers, but it can be enjoyed by all. On a side note: I did not find any foul language or graphic violence that is not fit for a child to read. This is definitely a book that I will be sharing with my kids and can vouch as a parent for the tastefulness of presentation. An adventure book that you will not be able to put down. A mystical world that readers of all ages will enjoy time and time again. Five stars!

I really liked this book I think maybe better than the other 2

I really liked this book I think maybe better than the other 2 in the series :) Perhaps because I am sooo into Medieval times and mythology and this book was chock-full of adventure in this theme! The kids along with Chacon travel through Avalon and many other worlds to yet again save Sagaas from ruin.
This book also has a bit of love running through it as Claire finds more than just a friend in Chacon. This does not seem like the greatest idea to Evan, but he is being sidetracked by his own problem - his dreams are becoming more real and bothersome.

All in all this whole series so far is amazing and I can definitely see it becoming HUGE in the Young Adult genre! No need to worry about your kids reading this, it is all clean themes and amazing adventures in fantastical worlds :) Once again 5 stars! Loved it!
