As a professional set designer, and as a teacher, this book is where I turn when I am trying to remember 'why I do this.' Mr. Jones' poetic and theoretical wanderings address all of the reasons that theatrical design is important, relevant, and magical. His lyrical descriptions of his design process always get me excited about my own work, and his place in American Theater History is testament to the continuing timliness of his writings. Though it was written over fifty years ago, it is as fresh now as it was fifteen years ago when I first read it, and as it was when he wrote it. I can not reccommend this book highly enough to any artist in any field. Was this review helpful? Yes NoThank you for your feedback. Report this reviewThank you, this review has been flagged.
