Meet the Author


George Davidson studied languages and linguistics at the universities of Glasgow, Edinburgh and Strasbourg, and is a graduate of Edinburgh University. A former senior editor with Chambers Harrap, he is now a freelance compiler and editor of dictionaries and other reference books. He is an elder of the Church of Scotland, and lives in Edinburgh.

    What a cool book for "Art Lovers" as well as casual viewers!

    This book will give you a great insight into the mind of an artist from this period. You can almost formulate what thought patterns gave rise to these amazing creative works. He creates from from the realm of fantasy to the real live conflicts of a socially accepted and prescribed notion of the afterlife. I found it curious how the constant worry of day to day existence juxtaposed with some of these fantastical representations of another world and the speculation of eternity.

    excellent book if you like Dore

    Is a great book if you like Dore or as a reference inspirational book for art projects. :)
