    I Also Recommend:

    Great Teen Adventure/Romance

Trying to turn a teen girl on to history? Or graphic novels? Give her a copy of The Dreamer. It's thrilling, romantic and educational. Great artwork, too. It also ends on a cliffhanger -- so she'll have to come back for volume two.

A unique, fun and wonderful read

Lora Innes has done a spectacular job writing and illustrating 'The Dreamer'. The reader is able to live through dramas in two time periods- 1776 and the present day. The drama follows the life of the teenager, Bea, who has dreams about living during the time of the American Revolution. Love unfolds in both her dream life and in reality- but what are the consequences? It's beautifully drawn and written, with wonderful quirks, details and charismatic charm. The characters are wonderful, the plot keeps you hungry for more- and it is very rich in authentic truths pulled together to make this 'dream' seem too good to be true! Lora Innes has dedicated so much time into creating this and you can tell. It truly is a gem of a find and you will not regret reading this- again and again!
