I'm a complete novice at sewing, I even failed that section of home-ec! Despite that this book managed to show me all the basics of making my own clothing (not just dresses) and many different techniques that will be hugely useful in a way that I could easily understand and learn to do for myself. It took what seemed like a huge undertaking and showed me how simple (and valuable) it could be!

This book is great for the beginner and experienced sewer. I have been sewing for many years but there are lots of techniques I have heard of but never been shown how to do. The book has great photos and explains how to do each technique very clearly. This is now my favorite reference for sewing.
