Editorial Reviews

Mary B.
If you admire authors who, when writing at their best...do ANY kind of historical romance extremely well -- think Carla Kelly, Loretta Chase, Julie Garwood, Mary Balogh, Barbara Metzger, Connie Brockway, Anne Gracie, Jodie Thomas, Kaki Warner and Maggie Osborne -- I believe you'll appreciate this author's first book. If you want wit, laughter and lovable, likeable characters, dive right in -- you will not be disappointed. I'm eagerly awaiting her next book.

I won't repeat the earlier reviewers' content. I'll just say I found the characters entertaining, the writing clear and descriptive. It's the first book I can think of in which active and passive verbs become character traits! Very funny.

This story was one of the most entertaining novels that I have had the pleasure of reading in a really, really, long while.

Meet the Author

Miranda Davis has loved Regency period romances since Mr. Darcy won Elizabeth Bennett’s heart. (Not that Miranda is 200 years old.) Miranda’s mother must take responsibility for her daughter’s love of Georgette Heyer’s books. At various points, she earned degrees from Smith College and Harvard University and worked at everything from scooping ice cream to advertising. When she’s not busy with family along the Old Santa Fe Trail, she’s happily dreaming of Regency England or reading about it. She feels there’s no better way to pass a quiet evening than to reread Loretta Chase’s Lord of Scoundrels, which in her humble opinion, is the most fun and most perfectly populated contemporary Regency romance. Ever.

Another important individual contributed to this effort. Though he doesn’t read (that the author knows of), her hulking, brown, part-gargoyle dog graciously agreed to appear in The Duke’s Tattoo using a stage name, naturally. Pending negotiations, he may return for cameos in subsequent novels of this series.

Miranda would love to hear from readers. Contact her at

    Loved it!

I haven't read a regency romance in a long time. Loved the title so I thought I'd give it try and was very happy I did! Super cute and a bit funny. It was really enjoyable.
