Overview

Becoming a zombie was much more painful than he had expected.

The world has ended, and the few who are left struggle to survive. They had hoped that the worst thing they would have to deal with in this new world would be the walkers, come to rip and devour. They were wrong. There are worse things than zombies.

Those once thought safely sheltered in massive bunkers are under ceaseless attack or have gone dark-or worse. Meanwhile, thousands of miles away, marooned on the desert ice of Antarctica, a dwindling group of scientists fend off starvation.
David Blake and the US military launch a desperate rescue mission to bring them back-among them, the one scientist who has the knowledge that could save the human race.

I received this book as an Early Reviewer copy and was very impressed.  I had not read book one in this series but definitely will now!  I love the Antarctica setting tied with zombie type outbreak!  To me being stuck in Antarctica with the elements and having an outbreak of zombies on top of it, scares the living crap out of me!  This book also does a good job of building the story.  It has great characters and is very detailed orientated!  The characters are well like able and the story to me is very believable.  It has great suspense build up and also grabs your attention early on!  I look forward to the next installment of this series!

    Gecko

A gecko floats down, its figure wavering. "Do not be sad, my friends, my family," a voice whispers, drifting through the breeze that carries the scent of irises. "I am i the rain that drizzles down, the sunlight that shines, and th wind that caresses." Then it disappears.

    Destructiveclaw

She dries her eyes and leaps into Geckostars Memorial Oak. She makes a nest in one ov the branches and curls up in it, feeling comforted. Dc

    Gecostar's Memorial Oak

The third Leader of HurricaneClan, Geckostar served the shortest amount. As a Warrior, Geckostar, then Geckoleaf, came to the Clan bringing happiness to all. She served her Clan bravely and cheerfully until Darkdream retired, and she became deputy. Her mate was Tornadoclaw and she had two litters of kits, Bearslash/star, Amberkit, and Sharkkit, and Talonpaw and Mistyflower, and two litters of Grandkits, Ivysong and Cometpaw, and Scarletkit. Geckostar had two deputies. Her mate, Tornadoclaw, until he died, and her son, Bearslash, who leads the Clan today. Geckostar was loved and wl be missed by all. The next Memorial Oak will be Bearstar's, but it won't be posted in the result above until he has passed. -Bearstar-
