Lady Arabella Sutton is stunned to learn her brother has betrothed her to a stranger despite his promises for a season in London. Although she is the first to admit no man would suit, since she’s more interested in horses than marriage, the last thing she wants is to become a brood mare to a stuffy old earl. Facing a future she cannot abide, she takes an impetuous ride to clear her head and ends up tending her injured mare instead.

Oliver Westwyck, the Earl of Marsdale, can’t believe his luck when he stops at an inn the night before he’s to meet his fiancée. In the stable, while tending the colt he intends to give to his future wife, he happens upon her—rain-drenched but beautiful. She assumes he’s a stable hand, a fine joke he means to end...until Lady Arabella declares all noblemen are egotistical, conceited, and arrogant. How can he reveal his true identity before he’s managed to change her mind and win her heart?

' I received a free ARC of this book from NetGalley in exchange for an honest review '

Lady Arabella's brother informed her that she will be married in a couple of days to an Earl. She is not happy. She does not want to be married right away and to someone that she does not know. So she goes out to ride her horse. This is how she clears her head and gathers her thoughts. After a bit she is not as upset about it as she was but now she is too far from home and there is a storm so she goes to the closest place.

There she runs into a man that she wrongly assumes is the Stable Master, but is really her fiancé Oliver. Oliver is stunned when he finds out who the beautiful girl is. But he see's this as an opportunity for them to get to know each other. He does not tell her who he is but tells her he is a horse breeder.

What will Lady Arabella do when she finds out the truth?

I thought this was a very sweet short. I don't like that he lied but I do like that he tries like crazy to keep an eye on her and keep her safe. Even when she runs off. If you want something sweet and short to read I definitely recommend this book. I thought it was great and would be interested in reading more from this author.

Last night, I finished The Earl's Christmas Colt by Rebecca Thom

Last night, I finished The Earl's Christmas Colt by Rebecca Thomas. First off, this is a very sweet innocent story about a young woman whose brother basically arranges a marriage for her.

All right, this story is short and sweet. Lady Arabella Sutton tends to love horses a little more than people. So, she's a little different. Oliver Westwyck, the Earl of Marsdale is basically just looking for a wife and doesn't really want to go through the bout of courting another lady, since the first time didn't go so well. So, he agrees to marry Arabella no question ask. Seriously, that is the gist of the story. If I give any more than that, it will be the whole story. Here is the bottom line if you are still in the mood for a Christmas that is short, sweet and clean, you might give The Earl's Christmas Colt a try.

I loved this charming tale. The dialogue and setting were realistic, taking my to the 19th century. I immediately adored Bella for her spunk and determination. The earl was confident but sincere. Thomas' writing is polished and clever, making this a fabulous read,

    Excellent short read

51 pages, but so well done you don't feel like you missed anything. There was a timing issue of things, but it was minimal.

If you're looking for a short and sweet read, look no further!

If you're looking for a short and sweet read, look no further!

Although this isn't very long, Rebecca Thomas manages to make the connection between the characters very real and believable. I also love a heroine in historical romance to be outspoken and not so easily swayed by the men's decisions. Arabella is strong and intelligent, and is a good match for Oliver, the Earl she's been set to marry.

Mistaken identity can be hit or miss, but here it was done very well, and served to forge the familiarity between the characters. It's hard to believe this story takes place over only a few days! A feel-good novella that doesn't feel incomplete is hard to find. I'm so happy I found it with The Earl's Christmas Colt.

I'll be reading more of this author's books for sure! :)

Lady Arabella has always been close to her brother Will. She cannot believe he would betroth her to the Earl of Marsdale, Oliver Westwyck with at least consulting her. When she unexpectedly gets caught in a rain/snow storm when her mare’s foot is injured, she seeks shelter at a local inn. The mysterious Mr. Carrington comes to her rescue but much to her surprise, he is not who he says he is. Perhaps not all dukes, brothers and strangers are not as crazy as they seem. This is a cute, quick holiday read—perfect for this time of year. And for $0.99--it is a steal too!!

The Earl¿s Christmas Colt is the perfect read for a cold winter¿

The Earl’s Christmas Colt is the perfect read for a cold winter’s day. The story is well paced, sweet, and really heart warming.

I really enjoy historical romance so I thought this would be a quick enjoyable read, and I was right. Our main character is Lady Arabella Sutton, a independent young woman with a incredible passion for horses. She’s not a meek woman and despite the short amount of time I got to spend getting to know her I really liked her. The Earl of Marsdale, Oliver, was also really enjoyable and despite his bit of bumbling I really enjoyed how earnest he was. I rarely read historicals where the love interest has a title and a sense of humility, so this was a really nice change of pace.

A short book requires a short review, or I run the risk of spoiling the sweetness of the story. If you like stories that leave you feeling happy and warm, then The Earl’s Christmas Colt just might be for you. This is my first Entangled Flirt story and I’m really looking forward to reading even more books from their line.

A sweet, lovely historical romance, The Earl's Christmas Colt wa

A sweet, lovely historical romance, The Earl's Christmas Colt was a wonderful read. I really enjoyed reading this sweet romance.

Both of the main characters were lovely. Arabella was a likable heroine. She was strong willed and determined to live life on her own terms. My only issue with her was that she was a tad over dramatic at times. Otherwise, I really liked her. Oliver was very sweet and utterly adorable. I thought he was perfect.

The romance was very sweet. Arabella and Oliver were lovely together.

The plot was fast paced and I was hooked the entire way through. I really enjoyed the sweet story and the ending was lovely.

The Earl's Christmas Colt was a wonderful historical romance novella. I really liked this book. Romance lovers, if you want something to make you smile, this is the novella for you.
