When I flipped through The Earth is For Dancing to be specific in my review, I reread the dedication from the POV of one who has met and bonded with the main character, Sam...and got a lumped throat and pin-pricked eyes for my effort. That's how real the book feels; that's how close to the bone it cuts.

This wasn't the only visceral reaction I had while reading it. At one point, I was so upset for Sam due to a turn of events, I had to turn my book off and go to sleep angry. Other times,
