I love when a book is un-put-downable, and when it ends, you want more. I have read and re-read this book many times, each time wanting more.
The Becker character is someone you would like to know in real life. Strong but flawed, someone you’d want in your camp forever. And the serial kidnappers/murderers that he is hunting are the worst of the worst. The writer confronts the subject of child abduction head-on with no sugar coating as to the fate of the victims. No Hollywood endings for these children, just as in real life.
I remember reading this book the first time when my son was very young. It made me want to lock him in the house forever and never let him venture outside.
Read this book. Read ALL of his books. This author has a very descriptive writing style. He puts feelings and emotions into words, and it’s a joy to read.
It’s a pity it seems he has disappeared and taken Becker with him
