A Must Read For All Pastors and Christian Workers

THE EFFECTIVE INVITATION is the definitive work on evangelistic preaching and invitations. It gives the history and biblical basis for invitations, answers the critics, takes the readers step by step through the invitation process, offers particular advice on the proper use of music during an invitation and how to extend an invitation to children. An entire chapter examines Billy Graham's use of the invitation from his early days to the present. Nearly twenty invitation models are studied from the public invitation to the inquiry room to the progressive invitation. This is not a fluff book which advocates the misuse of invitations. It opposes psychological manipulation and 'getting them down the aisle' at any cost. In fact this book is a popularization of the author's doctoral dissertation. THE EFFECTIVE INVITATION is presently being used in seminaries and Bible colleges throughout the world. It is also available in a Spanish edition. The fact that it has remained in print since it was first published in 1984 is a testimony of its value and practicability. Without controversy, this is the Rolls Royce of books on the subject.
