A most thrilling and captivating tale for readers of all ages

Menarm was a great and prosperous kingdom, known throughout the lands for its friendly, hard-working people and fair trade. But a bitter struggle of succession between twin brothers left the kingdom devastated, the people divided. Some stayed with Fenil, who had conquered the crown, others followed Renil to the wild lands of the north, founding a new kingdom.

Now Adren, the last princess of the vanquished realm of Menarm, finds herself alone in a world where women live in the shadows of men. Not only must she battle her enemies, but also a truth that could obliterate her last hope for happiness and bring dishonor to all those whom she hold dear. On her quest, she finds unlikely allies in a powerful prince and a defiant mercenary, only to be devastated by an ancient and wily elf. Will Adren be able to survive this final assault?

The Elf and the Princess is a brilliant tale of high adventure, true love, and medieval-style warfare between elves, men, and orcs. Drawing inspiration from the myths and legends of Europe and from such writers as J.K. Rowling and J.R.R. Tolkien, Anna del C. Dye spins a completely original tale that will leave the reader wanting more.

This book is definitely for the reader who seeks adventure, enjoys war action, and relishes a little romance. As for me, I absolutely revelled in the clues the author gives as to the mystery of the silent warrior. Even though this mystery is revealed very early in the book, there were surprises up to the very end! I also enjoyed the beautiful names she gives to the characters and places in the story. What an imagination!
Ashley Merrill
Anna del C. Dye does an amazing job at keeping the reader entertained. She really gets you to fall in love with all of the characters. With her knowledge of swordsmanship, I felt as though I was right beside the brave warriors as they fought for peace and freedom.
I particularly liked how she did not go into too much detail of the battles. Don't get me wrong, Anna del C. Dye did not leave you without description. I would recommend this book to anyone looking for a book that is well put toget

What I instead found was that Anna del C. Dye had done an absolutely spectacular job at turning this into a book that lured both young and old readers alike. I think I can describe it best by comparing it to Harry Potter. With that series, any age group can read it and fall in love with it. This is the same for The Silent Warrior Trilogy; I loved it, my ten year old cousin would love it, and my mother would love it. This alone proves the immense talent of Anna del C. Dye.

Meet the Author

Anna was born in the extreme South along some famous beaches. She is the third child and twins with her sister Elena. She grew up with four other siblings being placed in the middle. Her mother died when she was six years old and her father never married again.
The green eyed, brown haired author found a mother in her husband's mother and loves her dearly. She accredits her mother-in-law with teaching her many things in life.

The author loves reading, but had few opportunities to do so while growing up. Once married she was introduced to the Hardy Boys and Nancy Drew books that she admits to having collected, which collections she still retains. They were the ones who wet her appetite. A few years ago she was introduced to Tolkien's Lord of the Ring's and to J. K. Rowling's writings, which she loves. She also loves romantic music that she listens to every day, plays that she attends at least six times a year, and cats (when they are not shedding.) She likes her clothes to be very feminine, with lace being one of her favorites. "I am afraid that I do not follow fashions," she was heard to say. "I wear what I like."

Early on in her life she showed an affinity for sewing and took classes that rewarded her with the opportunities of taking care of the costumes for the cast of four different plays, which she enjoyed immensely. She is fluent in both English and Spanish and understands Portuguese.

At twenty-one she moved north to marry Rodney and has resided in Utah since then. Her husband, a native of Idaho, met her in her hometown. They fell in love and she came to Utah on Christmas Eve to be married two weeks later. They are the parents of three princes and a princess.

With her husband and his family she has have the opportunity of traveling to many of the states in USA, most of them camping, and to three other countries, something she enjoys very much. Soon, she would like to visit the castles in Germany and other European countries.

Anna possesses a great mind and imagination, which, with the encouragement of her husband, she set to writing. The creation of her two series of books The Elf Series and her Medieval Romance series; are the result of many years of daydreaming and now, her own laptop. Elf and The Princess: The Silent Warrior Trilogy - Book One

I read the book and gave it to my granddaughter. It was so good that I couldn't wait to finish it. I got so worried with the part where the princess discovered the awful truth about her father, and the part of how she couldn't be with the handsome elf that I didn't know if I could take it. All I can tell you is read the book. I love the ending... It made me feel very good. I wondered where you get the names... they are so interesting?

    Great book

I can see this book made into a movie or a play. The characters are great for that kind of drama and the action is perfect to recreate on a set or screen. I can even name some of the actors who would do an excellent job in the movie. I have recommended this book to many of my students... I also ordered the sequel and I'm sure it will be well worth my time.

    Great series

I picked up this book two weeks ago and I couldn't put it down, in fact I read it in one day. Being under the weather helps, and the book was so interesting that I forgot that I was sick. I watch like a hawk to see when the sequel will appear and probably got the first book in the store. I think this is a very good author and her writings are clean and very refreshing. I have no problem telling my friends to pick up this series for their kids.

    I love this book

It starts with a princess who goes through many hard trials, yet still keeps her head up. A prince that is in love with a glorious being and elfs who are wise in things of warfare, yet not in the things of the heart. But don't despair! They figure things out... not only about the war and who their enemies are, but why the princess hates the great elf commander. This book is awesome and you have to read it.

It got me from the beginning and I could not stop. The characters and the winding road the the author took them through it was amazing. I couldn't believed the interesting ways that she told their story. I could feel their pain their joy and the tension of the scenes. It has become one of my favorites and the sequel is coming soon. You have to read it it is awesome.

    A great new story

So many stories follow the same old patterns, as if there were no new ideas. This is a great exception. It is targeted at young adults, but can hold the attention of any fantasy fan. It will keep your eyes glued to the pages until the end.

Elf and The Princess: The Silent Warrior Trilogy - Book One

This tale is amazingly good and I love all the twist in it. When you think you know where Anna is going she throws a curve and you find out that you were wrong. The many clues that she spread through out the book are great, yet you don't see them until she reveal what they are and then you have to admit that she was great. You just have to read it...

She was able to transport me to her world where I could see and feel the emotions among the characters seeing what they see and feeling what they feel. Say what

Insane i had no idea that i could actually stay in one place for so long. Being a guy with limited attention span i never thought i could sit still for as long as i did. This book literally pulls you away from reality in a matter of seconds. The story line is intense enough that it is really hard to stop reading. The characters are very well described enough to the point of were you get the sense that it could actually be someone you know. Know matter what age you are. I know its wide range of plots, detail as well as being well versed in an assortment of characters it will be a timeless piece of literature.

I really enjoyed this book. It was a tender romance with a lot of action and excitement. It pulled you in right from the start and you wanted to see how everything would play out. I liked the characters and enjoyed getting aquainted each one of them. I am looking forward to reading the next book when it comes out.

    more from this reviewer

    Entrancing plot... Real characters!

I read The Elf and The Princess in about six hours, which is fast for me for a novel of this length. The names and places in this first of 'The Silent Warrior Trilogy' are intriguing. This fantasy love story captivates the reader with its twists and turns through the unknown upcoming scenes. I would love to see a movie made of this tale. Looking forward to the sequels!

    Elf's tale

Anna did a great job in her first fantasy novel. I am amazed at her talent as it comes from a non-native English speaker. She has become an example for me of what we can do when we put our minds to accomplish something great. I truly enjoyed reading The Elf and the Princess and recommend it to anyone that wants to read for fun and entertainment. I will get the sequel today...

    interesting and captivating tale

I not much into fantasy or fiction, but I read this story and found it very appealing, and entertaining. I like the clean proper use of the English language and lack of obcenities that abound in many other literary works today. A good family read. I would never guess the end!!
