    Don't waste your time or money.

    This book was obviously put together by a person who did not know the subject matter. Outdated material from older books has simply been recompiled in a new cover. Heres an example of how poorly thought-out the book is: there are three entries for the Swedish Viggen fighter in different categories, but the F-16 is not included at all. Apart from some good photographs, this book has little value.

    A poor excuse for a book

    For anyone looking for information on 'modern' weapons this book should definitely be avoided. It is a horrible mish-mash of dated materials that sometimes contradicts it self. This book has the feel of an editor taking existing stock information and just putting them together and calling it a book. Many of the weapon profiles are way out of date, a book with a 1999 copyright date should not refer to 1986 as 'in the near future' nor 'delivery is expected in 1992' for an item cancelled in the 1980's. Typos abound in the book along with photo captions that do not agree with the pictures. Many of the major sections (like submachine guns, light vechiles, etc.) start with an introductory section where they mention various weapons, but the 'encyclopedia' doesn't bother to provide profiles for the weapons.
