About the Author

Alexander Mauskop, MD, is the Director and founder of the New York Headache Center in New York City. He is Board-certified in Neurology with subspecialty certification in Headache Medicine. Dr. Mauskop is a Fellow of the American Academy of Neurology and the American Headache Society. He is a Professor of Clinical Neurology at SUNY, Downstate Medical Center.
Dr. Mauskop has conducted breakthrough research in the field of headaches and has published numerous articles in scientific journals. He serves as a reviewer for The New England Journal of Medicine, Neurology, Headache, and other medical journals. In addition to having given over 500 lectures, he has been a guest speaker at Cornell, Harvard, Columbia, NYU and Dartmouth Medical Schools, Mayo and Cleveland Clinics, as well as Charité – Universitätsmedizin Berlin, Europe’s largest university hospital, and Ludwig-Maximilians-Universität München.
Dr. Mauskop has organized and directed an annual educational symposium for physicians in New York City for 25 years. Over 200 doctors from around the world have visited the New York Headache Center to learn advanced treatment techniques, including Botox injections, magnesium infusions, and others. Two editions of his book for doctors, Migraine and Headache have been published by Oxford University Press. He is also the author of The Headache Alternative: A Neurologist's Guide to Drug-Free Relief, a book published by Dell, and What Your Doctor May Not Tell You About Migraines: The Breakthrough Program That Can Help End Your Pain, published by Warner Books.
