I'll bet the "endless lake" will turn out to be a very salty lake. i.e. the ocean, or, as warriors put it, the sun drown place.

Excellent story! Gillian and the Survivors writer sure do seem to have it going! The characters have good development, and she is skilled with figurative language, details, and speech. I read this book in one day, and could not put it down. I can't believe about Alpha's ending.... He may or may NOT die in this book, but if he "does", expect the unexpected ;)

I am a huge reader of the Erin Hunter series's, and Survivors is no worse, I've read every single book in the Survivors series and can't wait for the next one: The Storm of the Dogs! I liked this book because Storm had a lot more character development with Fang. The book also improved on Alpha, because he betrayed his pack to the Fierce Dogs and became their Omega! I can't wait for the book Tales of the Packs is going to be released, because I want to know about Alpha, and how he felt about being left an outsider from his wolf pack because he was half dog. In short, I loved this book!
