As a pro football fan, and avid reader I enjoyed this book very much. I would reccomend this to any serious pro football fan, who is also interested in the history of the game. I have read several other pro football encyclopedias, and rate this one the best. My only complaint is that I wish it was a bit more comprehensive in the statistics category. For instance, no information on how often a player fumbled in their career is given. I would also like to see more comprehensive statistics on interceptions, punt and kick-off returns. This edition only provides stats on players if they had a certain minimum number of interceptions, and kick returns...I would like to see data on all players that ever intercepted a pass, or returned a punt/kick-off.(If this data is available).

This had all the information I was looking for about my favorite players for years and a whole lot more. If you're like me and have questions about your favorite players, you need this Encyclopedia.

A tremendous volume, happy to see that they included information about rival leagues that did not end up having teams ending up playing in the NFL,i.e. the three early A.F.L.'s, W.F.L., U.S.F.L., what kept me from buying the 1st edition. Why the could not also include N.F.L. Europe is curious, since it was owned by the N.F.L.. Also, the errors were of concern, such as in the 'Game Score' section, not having the total scores of some games, of course, I guess it is difficult to be 100% accurate when you are including so much information. Overall though, a wonderful volume, that no football fan's library would be complete without!
