Peace, Apocalyptic Warning, and Peace Once Again!

This Gospel focuses on the ancient Essene community acknowledging communion with 12 Angels, ranging from The Sun, Work,Joy, to the Angel of Peace.

Rendered mostly in poetic style, comments about the lifestyle, dietary habits, and love of nature (particularly trees)are inherent within the writings/scriptures.

Numerous mentions of "Heavenly Father", "Mother Earth","The Law" and "Children of the Light" also exist.

Dr. Szekely's translation of source material and editing is insightful,
flows well, and is seemingly timeless. Considering this mysterious & prominent Semitic sect/cult flourished over 2,000 years ago, phraseology is reasonably modern. One does not need a dictionary to enjoy this book!

Of particular interest, within the text, is echo of Yeshuian, Mosaic thought, and direct acceptance of Enoch (referenced to as the founder of this Brotherhood).

Also, many of the poetic lines contain numerous words and phrases that
are related to Seventeenth thru Nineteenth century "hymn" titles and
verses. I have marked a number of these in my copy.

Zoroastrian influences are somewhat evident, although not directly mentioned except in the Preface.

While the majority of the collection is gentle and sublime, the
final chapter called "Prophecies" turns to an apocalyptic and harsh
prediction of "end times" a la Apostle John's "Revelation".

I admit temporary discouragement overtook me, however, the ending of this final discourse returns to optimism and serenity as (unlike John)
the Earth is restored to cohesive splendor, still in material form.

Weaknesses: Lack of commentary, and solid verification of source
material. There is no mention of the Essenes later evolving to the Nazarenes, unless it is inferred in previous and subsequent Szekely

Strengths: Readability, description of Essene ritual and philosophy,
and the inclusion of Enoch as a valid religious influence and founder.
It can be read easily in a day, but digesting it's meaning will
take longer. Cross referencing other sources may become a factor
if total acceptance of the contents is a goal.

    This Publication is:

    1. Highly Recommended!
    2. Best suitable for Judaic Religionists, Progressive Christians, & "Gnostics".

I found this book insightful and elevating; like listening to the language and voices of angels. I felt enfolded in the wings of love and illumination as I read the cadences of this translation by a true and sensitive mystic.
