    Hit and Miss

I've only read a few of these. The earlier books circa 1991-98 are a little clunky since the expanded universe hadn't really developed. The series do get better and a highlight is Timothy Zahn's Thrawn trilogy. Unfortunately this bundle doesn't carry all three books in that series but if you like Star Wars and don't know where to start this is a good collection. It's also interesting to note the stylistic differences between the authors so you may find a new favorite author. The way Stackpole describes the dog fights in space is action-packed. I recommend reading them as close to chronological published order as possible to avoid any spoilers. 5 stars to offset the people who haven't even read the books.
