About the Author

Edward M. Bounds (August 15, 1835 – August 24, 1913) was a clergyman of the Methodist Episcopal Church South and author of eleven books.

A chaplain during the American Civil War, Edward M. Bounds was a prolific writer creating numerous works dealing with the importance of prayer in the Christian life. After being released as a prisoner of war, he traveled the country as an itinerant pastor, bringing many to the saving grace of Jesus Christ.
