Overview

From the #1 New York Times bestselling author Jessica Sorensen comes a story of change, hope, and unbreakable vows.

The day Ella has waited for is just around the corner. It's the day she'll marry Micha, the love of her life, the light that guided her out of the darkness. It looks like it will be the perfect Christmas-until an unexpected package arrives with a harsh reminder of Ella's past. Suddenly Ella doesn't feel as confident about her future. Can she really have a "happily-ever-after" if she's never even seen one?

Micha will stand by Ella no matter what she's going through-though he worries that she might leave him standing at the altar again. When he's offered a once-in-a-lifetime chance to tour with his favorite bands for three months, Micha knows he can't leave Ella behind. But can he ask her to uproot her life to join him on the road?

Now Ella and Micha must find a way to balance their fears, their dreams, and their love . . . if they ever want to hear wedding bells.

Sorenson’s fourth Secret erotic contemporary scrambles to tie up loose ends from previous installments while giving the title couple their hour in the spotlight. Ella begins her series of confusing decisions by leaving Micha at the altar. Micha makes his first show of endless patience when he agrees to postpone the wedding until Christmas, when they can have the ceremony at their childhood home. Several glimpses into the past are shown through the exploration of Ella’s mother’s journal, the discovery of which prompted the sudden change in wedding plans. Flashback sequences illuminate portions of Micha and Ella’s shared history, but these detours steal most of the focus from the present day, making this novel paradoxically lugubrious despite intense emotion and sizzling erotic interludes. The best part is the satisfying resolution, which does feel earned through effort and commitment. Agent: Erica Silverman, Trident Media Group. (Dec.)

I loved the conclusion of the saga that has been Ella and Micha and the fact that they finally got married and had their HEA but was dissapointed that the story didn't go another few years in the future so we could glimpse the further development of their relationship after the tour. Also would have loved to have heard abt Micha's metioric rise to musical fame but overall was a beautiful love story.

4.5 beautiful stars: As you know, this series is dirty and dark and depressing (as most of Jessica Sorensen's books are) but this one was a little more pretty than her other books, especially the other books in this series.  In Ever After Ella and Micha have to deal with their pasts and their fears, namely Ella's. She's afraid of giving herself to Micha, she's afraid she won't be enough and one day he'll want to leave her, she's afraid of becoming a wife and mother, she's especially afraid of having a future. But, in true Micha fashion he's there to support her and love her and reassure her that he'll always love her and she's more than enough for him. "...and then we'll have our happy, sad, sometimes good, sometimes bad, crazy, bumpy, intense, worth-the-journey ever after." As always Ms. Sorensen delivers an awesome, amazing, heart-breakingly beautiful story. I have thoroughly enjoyed getting to know Ella and Micha. I've loved watching them grow both as individuals and together. I've loved watching them fall in love over and over again. I am so sad to say goodbye to Ella and Micha but I'm so, so happy they are getting their HEA.  "...finally getting to our wonderfully, imperfect, difficult, complex, yet beautiful and worth it ever after."

I am a huge fan of this series and I think my favorite part about this book is the title.  Forever......  It means from the get go that this will not end in one of the evil, yet awesome cliffhangers Jessica is well known for.  It also implies that no matter how much is thrown at them we will finish the book with a smile on our face.  Was this story filled with the heart wrenching reality that is the life both Micha and Ella lead and have led, sure. But through it all there is a hope that comes with true love.  If you have not read the previous books, this book is probably not going to be nearly as enjoyable for you, so I would suggest starting with The Secret of Ella and Micha.  If you have read the first two books you are going to want to snag this puppy now, grab a cuppa and hibernate in a snuggly read spot until you have finished the entire thing.

(3.75 stars) I was very weary about starting this book because I wasn't a huge fan of their last book. I was pleasantly surprised & thought this was a great ending to Ella & Micha's story. Ella grows so much as a character while learning to come to terms with her mother's death & her own mental health issues. I liked how we had a few flashback chapters that gave us more insight to their childhoods & time spent together. The only thing I would have changed would be the epilogue. I don't think it added anything & I definitely would've wanted more time to have passed. This book really has gotten me back into this series. Can't wait to see what's in store for Lila & Ethan & their road trip.

***I was given a complimentary copy of this book in exchange for an honest review for Nerd Alert Book Love blog*** This is book 4 in The Secret series. You could probably read it as a stand alone but it might be a bit confusing being it is the continuation of Ella and Micha's story.  "...Star Grove.  My hometown.  The place where I broke apart and was put back together again. That place that holds so many memories,  both good and bad..." Ella and Micha have been through so much in life already but together they seem to be able to face and deal with what ever life has thrown at them in the past.  "...Micha has been my light in my dark life..." Ella is trying so very hard to put her past behind her and focus on her future with Micha and their upcoming wedding. The future scares her as does all of the emotions she is dealing with but she gets really thrown off when a mysterious box gets delivered to her days before her and Micha say I Do.  "...I'll always be with you,  inside and out.  Through hard times and helpless ones, through love,  through doubt..." Micha has been waiting to make Ella his own since he was about 4 years old and he offered her a juice boy, a toy car, and a reason to smile. And he is so close to getting exactly what he wants. But Micha gets offered his dream job and he doesn't know how to approach Ella about it. "...She laughs a little more and I swear to God the sound of it is the most amazing thing I've ever heard.  Rare and beautiful..."  What is in the mystery box that has Ella in so much turmoil? How will Ella's dad and Micha's mom handle the upcoming wedding? Can Ella once and for all face her demons and let go of the past? How will Micha tell Ella about the job offer and the 3 months he will be away from home? How will Ella handle it? Will Ella and Micha get their ever after or will it all unravel again?  "...then we'll have our happy, sad, sometimes good,  sometimes bad, crazy, bumpy, intense, worth-the-journey ever after..." I have to admit I went into this book a little nervous about what would happen to Ella and Micha.  I honestly thought she could have stopped their story after the second book, well that it's until I read The Temptation of Lila and Ethan.  But this book was so beautifully written.  And the flashes to the past and the on going story just moved me to tears so many times. Of course,  I giggled a few times as well. I absolutely loved the flow of this book and how it all played out. Ella and Micha are two of my favorite characters and their story is so heartbreakingly beautiful.  I gladly give this book a Nerd Alert A++ or 5 stars.  Jessica Sorensen,  you are a brilliant poet of words among authors!

This one wasn't quite as emotional as the previous 2. Once I dove in, I couldn't stop. Loved it from start to finish.
