Meet the Author


David B. Dillard-Wright, PhD teaches philosophy, religion, and ethics at the University of South Carolina--Aiken. His practice in meditation originated in the Trappist tradition of contemplative prayer and then segued into Eastern practices. He has studied meditation at the Sivananda centers worldwide. He has written many articles and reviews investigating the interconnections between mind, body, and environment.

Ravinder Jerath, MD is a physician and award-winning faculty member at the Medical College of Georgia. He has taught a pranayama technique of deep slow breathing to his patients for more than twenty-five years. Dr. Jerath's techniques have helped patients who suffer from hypertension, insomnia, stress-related disorders, anxiety, and depression. His peer-reviewed articles on the physiological response and clinical effects of meditation have appeared in the Journal of Integrative Medicine and Hypothesis.
