Meet the Author

Elaine Waldorf Gewirtz (Westlake Village, CA) is the author of eight dog books and has written many magazine articles on dog behavior, care, health, and training. A member of the Dog Writers' Association of America (DWAA), the American Society of Journalists and Authors, and the Independent Writers of Southern California, Gewirtz is a multiple recipient of the prestigious DWAA Maxwell Award, the ASPCA Humane Issues Writing Award, and the Hartz Mountain Glamour Doggie Award for outstanding articles. A breeder of top show Dalmatians for 20 years, Gewirtz has lived with several breeds all of her life.

Kim Bloomer, VND (Rio Rancho, NM) is a veterinary naturopath, host of the online radio show Animal Talk Naturally, and a proficient blogger and writer on natural pet health. Dr. Bloom is also coauthor of the book Whole Health for Happy Dogs. She worked in traditional veterinary medicine for many years and continues to do extensive research into natural health care for dogs and cats. She is currently studying for her human doctor of naturopathy degree.
