Perfect read for anyone considering embarking on the journey of soapmaking!

I have been using home made soaps for years and began looking into making my own. Over the years I have found scents and consistencies that I really like; more importantly, my skin looks better now than it did 10 years ago and I credit that to the homemade soaps.

This book is fantastic- it gives the beginning "soaper" all they need to know to start and what sort of things they need to consider when starting. One of my favorite sayings is "you don't know, what you don't know" and this book brings that truth home once again. It delves into what materials you need, lye soaps vs non-lye based, safety issues, suggestions for choosing your materials (and why those suggestions are made), scented oils and oil based soaps, milk based soaps, etc.

I have been carrying this book with me for days- I read it while waiting to pick my son up at school, sitting in waiting rooms, nail salon, and pretty much anywhere I think I will be able to read it. It is a very easy read but also entertaining.

You are never really sure if you are going to like books when you first purchase them, this one was a great buy and a terrific read! I would recommend it to anyone interested in soap or soapmaking.
