The title was scary but I loved this book by the 3rd or 4th reading of it. The truths discussed were hard to swallow but after practicing some of the principles I started to reap a rich harvest in my marriage. I Thank God for the author, who obviously lived what she preaches about. Her biblical teaching is really on target especially in reference to submission. She explains it, then explains it then explains it again. I just wanted to say 'ok! I got it already but how do I walk this out?' The practical application is very challenging but worth it. It has been tried and tested and I have found that it works.

My friend recomended this book to me. She also took the time to work through it with me. This book helped me to put my role as a Christian wife in perspective. As a woman who is married to an unbeliever it gave me direction. I have recomended it to our church womens Bible study group and we are doing it this summer.

To put it in the most simple terms, this book is Bible based. Here is advice for women without the distractive noise of philosophy, opinions or world views coroding the landscape. This book is one of many that will embellish the Christian life of women.

This book has helped me to understand my role as a wife. I had a problem before I got married with the statement 'wives be submissive to your husband and I question why did the man name had to go before the women. I married in July 2000 and it has been difficult because I hated when I felt that my husband was inconsiderated about what I thought or said. I could never be right about anything.It wasn't until when I read this book which was introduce to other womens as well. We wanted to understand our role as a wife bibically and spiritually. A lady name Janice presented this book to the group. It has guided me to understand that what I do for my husband is what i'm really doing for God. Now I introduce this book to other womens' who are getting married. I want them to understand how important marrige is to God. This book deserves to be a guide to many women who think they know but don't really know the call that we have on our lives as wives. May God bless all who played a part in putting this book together. Thank you God.

This book saved my marriage .I have read it three times and have purchaced every copy that I could get my hands on to give to my friends. The author is an awesome writer and the book is a step by step guide that any wife can follow

Martha Peace really knows how to tell it like it is! She gives you a good dose of tough love that is fully backed by scripture and never appears argumentative. She shares her testimony with us right up front, so we understand where she was in her walk and why she felt inspired to write this book. The book starts off by covering foundational truths about God, sin and marriage, then focuses on the wife's responsibilities (1) to Christ, (2) in her home, and (3) to her husband. The core of the book is on the 's' word (submission), and I appreciated the way Peace handled the topic. She also includes a great section that helps a wife overcome any communication or conflict-solving challenges she may have. She even talks about dealing with fear, loneliness and anger (a big one for me!). All in all this was a really great read. I learned quite a bit and I still refer to it often. I must say that this book has really helped my marriage blossom, and it has given me a direction for my own life that I didn't have before. I would highly recommend this book to anyone looking into this subject. It was good reading and you didn't feel as if someone was 'preaching' at you. Cris

This book I found so helpful and speaking such truth. I read a story in this book and I thought to myself O' boy this Is totally me that she is speaking about she just put someone elses name on it, but it was totally me! This book is awesome and even though I find that I try to be this 'excellent wife' it is a very hard job and I have a long way to go. But I love this book it was giving to me by a sister at my church during a trial I was expereincing with my husband and reading this book has helped to humble me more greatly.!!!!

This book is a classic work of evangelical legalism and cultic manipulation. Its self-validating style is beyond arrogant as it idolatrously equates its opinion with God's will. It's also a work of true cultic zealotry with apparently no conscience about pretending to speak infallibly as it selects only those words, verses and interpretations that support its anti-human prejudices. It also apparently has no shame when it comes to misrepresenting, ridiculing and keeping the reader in the dark about other views. At one point (after an emotionally manipulating setup) the reader is encouraged to believe that women are genetically more gullible than men i.e. 'more easily deceived'. Notice how this ridiculously prevents the reader from trusting anything that the author says. Recall also how every racist believes that one group or another is genetically inferior in some way. Overall this book is a malicious tool of cultic indoctrination that hopes to find fresh victims to infantilize. Cover to cover it has all of the attributes of 'churches that abuse' and will no doubt continue to harm willing or vulnerable souls as well as those with (if it's possible) a conscience weaker than that of the author. The good news is that there are organizations out there (e.g. 'God's Word to Women') that undo alot of the damage caused by books like this.

Great guide for those who are willing to put a lot of effort for following God's
design of family roles.
Very challenging for those who want a great marriage but are not willing
to submit under God's authority. Btw, give credit to guys, their biblical role
is also challenging, but the result is an amazing happy and blessed union!
