Overview

THE EXECUTION ~ First book in The Wintergrave Chronicles

Parallel lives are fated to collide in The Execution, a medieval, fantasy thriller, dark adventure, and tragic love story set in fourteenth century France.

A young priest enters the prison cell of a condemned mercenary and is shocked to see the face of this murderer is his own—a mirror image of himself. Unknown to each other until now, the twins form a bond of brotherhood, sealed with their darkest secrets.

But with only hours until the execution, the priest questions which man should truly be condemned. Should it be the ruthless killer—a boy from an orphanage who suffered the unimaginable—or himself, the man of God whose own tormented desires ended in tragedy?

As the sun rises, the young priest knows what he must do. But can he make the ultimate sacrifice, and free them both?

Meet the Author

Sharon Cramer is an aspiring time-traveler, alien princess, and master painter of Halloween faces. In the meantime, she writes from a dank, dark cave, somewhere in Washington State. She is currently working on a Sci-Fi/fantasy series called THE CERULEAN STAR, and has a breakthrough, medieval paranormal novel series—The Wintergrave Chronicles—beloved by an amazingly loyal following. When not painting monsters and planning historical ruin and perfectly crushed hearts, Sharon can be found wandering the woods of Eastern Washington, talking to herself. Driven by sleeplessness and a seemingly endless draw to the keyboard (and the occasional extra strong coffee) she is inspired by unorthodox friends and extreme weather. Mother to three sons, a good horse, and an assortment of fish (most of which have names), she is married to a man who surely has won the Nobel Prize for Extreme Tolerance.

You will enjoy this book unless you are a history nerd, in which case you will wonder why the story is set in fourteenth century France- there is nothing french except the names of some of the places and the descriptionof daly life in the middle ages is .totally off. I can overlook mistakes like how religion was practiced and I realize how snobbish I am being about the hammered dulcimer and the use pf glassware in inns. What did me in was the reference to Joan of Arc's heroism when she lived and died in the fifteenth century. That was the point that did me in. But if you don't care about thtat stuff you may really like the book.

I loved this book. My heart wept for the two main characters, especially Ravan. The writing is excellent, the story line is fascinating. I read this book in three days, I was so engrossed. I definitely would recommend this book.

Wow! What an unexpected surprise. This is an exceptionally well written book. The author's ability to keep separate story lines so strong makes for a terrific tale of events. Her characters are well developed and the intertwining of people and events is excellent.I didn't want to put it down. I never read a book twice....but I may read this one again.

I read a lot. I can't afford to buy a lot of books and seek out free ones. This was, by far, the best book I have read for free. I actually feel a pang of guilt for not having to pay for it. The ending WAS somewhat predictable, however, the writing style, color, and emotion was so well described that the predictability mattered very little. Thanks for the valued entertainment!!

This was a very good book, I enjoyed it from start to finish, and like most others, hated to see it end.  I do hope that Sharon writes another one very soon.

I'm not familiar with this author, was not sure what to expect, but I started to read the book and couldn't stop. I had to know what happened. It's different than anything I've ever read. I found myself inside the story, like I was really there. New favorite and will watch for other books by Sharon Cramer

D'ata is a priest who goes to read a condemned man his last rights. What he finds is a man who looks just like him. As the two discover they are really twins they share how they have got to this point in their lives. Both have fallen in love but both have lived very different lives. As Ravan's last night draws to an end D'ata will do whatever he can to help the brother he never knew. This is an interesting story as from the first I wondered what kind of priest D'ata could be. e didn't act like the other priest. As he faces Ravan the story really starts for me. They tell each other how they grew up and in some ways it makes you wonder if they had grown up different would things change. I didn't like D'ata to much at first bit once I heard his tale he grew on me. He ran away with the girl he loved and was chased by many. I liked him more as I saw what all he went through. Ravan I have to say I liked from the start. He really grew up hard as he was a servant and more. he made several friends along the way and sometimes more than love. Their stories are told in flashbacks so you see them then and now. I liked the ending and I think the book is a good read. The cover matches the story very well and I really like that.

I would have to say that this book is one of the best romance/adventure story I've read. It's had me hooked and made my cry my eyes out. It was a great surprise to have read this wonderful book!

This book was absolutely wonderful. The characters were so intriguing and made you very empathetic for both of their pasts.  The author does a great job of keeping the reader's attention, and makes each character's story come to life.  The setting and time period were depicted wonderfully, I truly felt like I was in fourteenth century France. Also, there is a great mix of genre in this book- romance, defiance, action.  I highly recommend reading The Execution for anyone.

When I got this book, I also got a bunch of other books too. I decided I wanted to read this one first....BIG mistake. The other books are a bunch of paranormal romances that I KNOW won't come even close to measuring up to this book. So back to the question at hand....What do I do?
